How much is an FTB property where you live?

What a sterling contribution to a decent question. Thanks for that.
With regard to the OP, it's a bit difficult to answer the question as we live in a city so there is a huge variety of property depending on area. A two bed terrace in a bit of a dodgy area could be as low as £80k or as high as £250k in the really nice areas. I imagine you can then buy at all prices inbetween. You can buy a two bed flat in the city centre of Manchester for around £120k.
I used to live in an average size town in the midlands. You can buy a nice 2-bed terrace for between £100k and £120k as a typical guide price. 3 or 4-bed traditional semis would maybe be £140k up to £200k for much nicer ones.
Hi Cleaver, thanks for that.
Do you know what the cheapest entry level properties are?
One bed flats, etc.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Where I am in Surrey
One Bed about £100K
two Bed about £150K
3 bed terrace about £200K
For something worth actually living in you can add about 10% to the above prices.0 -
70 - 100k would get a 2 bed terrace/3 bed semi,area dependant 15 mile radiusOfficial MR B fan club,dont go............................0

Well, you can buy a sh*thole for £50k. Like this one:
So, let's say you have a 10% deposit for this lovely place and you get a 5% or 6% mortgage. That's repayments of around £300 a month. It's in a pretty horrible area.
You can rent 1-bed period conversion flats in Manchester in nice areas like Didsbury or Chorlton for £400 and below. If I wasn't flush with money and wanted my own place, I know which option I'd take.
To go back to your OP, I think that there are plently of options for most FTBers in and around Manchester, it's quite an affordable place. But if you're paying less than £80k then you're going to get something pretty grotty in a horrible place.0 -

As you can see, this is Ceredigion in West/Mid Wales.
I expanded the rightmove search on that flats postcode to 30 miles (45 minute commute), and found dozens of very nice looking properties, 2 bed flats, etc, for around the 100K mark.
Surprised there are not any one beds for less than that though.....
Quite interesting, thanks for that.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Nice looking is irrelevent. Having your car still there in the morning, is.0 -
And when older people (and some younger ones) say..........
" it was always hard to buy your first property"
"we started off somewhere dingy" etc.
This is the equivalent type of place they would be buying (the one in cleaver's post#15)
However, in those days your neighbours would be doing similar. Or even if they were renting they would have decency, manners and self-respect.
Today moving into that type of house would be hell. Surrounded by druggies, thieves and thugs."The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -

Peterborough has this one-bedder on at £55K. The area is 'diverse', shall we say.
You'd need to double that you get somewhere that is acceptable0 -

So did you plan to contribute anything to this thread, or just sit on the sidelines making sarcastic comments?
