First day of rest of my life

Having a weird day. Mom woke me up this morning (after a fabulous night's sleep - demon child at my sisters!:)) to tell me that my aunty got a phone call from hospital yesterday following a biopsy on thursday - they said they've found somehing and need to see her this week. She is 77 and had hard life and is finally relaxing, now this. Gutted for her, but also for my mom, they are really close. Still with luck they may be able to help, so will be looking for divine intervention.

Anyway, that news put a black cloud over me and have felt quite low. The good news is that dh then offered to take me shopping and as we have so much in freezer, I only spent £45 on weeks groceries! :)

Just found out it's free listing on ebay so going to look for a few things to sell tomorrow.

Re: Free listing - I didn't get an email this time either. Found out from stalking other people's diaries ;) Maybe they thought that we needed a rest this time round :)

  • Morning.
Yesterday I discovered that the Birmingham Hippodrome is doing free tickets for the pantomime for under 26 year olds under the Night Less Ordinary scheme. :) While I have only just missed that age ;) I did manage to get 4 tickets for my children to go, so only had to pay for myself and dh, oh and one for mom! Admittedly the tickets are at the back, but they were FREE!! :) Our tickets cost £50, which is too much really, so i am going to return the boots that I bought with dh's Christmas money. They cost £55 (although they were half price!) so will have change for ice creams:j

Know I can't really afford it, but the good news is that I have 2 weeks til payday and I had forgotten my family allowance money, so I will have money for over payments at the end of the month:j

  • Ohhh well done on the tickets, that sounds like it will be a wonderful night out for you all.

Struck a blinder on the sister's present!! Was going through a crate of clothes this morning and there were a couple of little velvet pouches, one had a pair of pearl earrings and the other a lovely invisible thread necklace that has little pearls, gold chunks, glass beads etc. The necklace has never been worn and will be perfect for her, also makes me feel better about the cheapy book i gave her for Christmas.
    Have you had any luck?

Red did you solve your present problem?

  • Hi, Well my sis rang and asked if we'd all go out for a meal for her bday next Sunday. She was going to pay so I have offered to cook for her and we're inviting our mum. Mum spent Christmas with THE other sister so we didn't see her so we have decided to cook a 'Christmas' dinner. I have even bought some cheap Christmas crackers and we are going to repeat Christmas. Now i'll just get something really cheap that I can wrap up cos I think cooking for 10 is enough really!! :)

Great idea Cialilerin, hope it works out not to expensive.

DH has said he wants a new toy gun for B/day. He plays soldiers in a swamp/forest thingy and he would like a new gun so the rest of the boys think he is cool. It costs £100 (Glup) but I have saved all my change in last month or so..........and will get mileage they 'forgot' to pay me in Dec. He has agreed to wait to end of month for it, so all good in the 'hood. Just have to find something small to give to him on Thurs
