Remember its not a race and life has a habit of getting the way. 2016 isn't that far away and if it happens sooner then that's great. Keep going

  • Morning,
Well nearly back to normal. Teacher training day for 3 of dds but the demon child's nursery is open. :j
This is my last day off so I need to get the house in some sort of order - there is a weeks worth of ironing looking at me (put it all on the settee to guilt me into doing it ;)) Dh has taken all the outside decorations down and some of the indoor lights, but the tree etc will come down on the 6th (when I am at work :)) Dh left the ironing board out for me this morning, so the kittens pulled it over and broke the litter tray!!!!!
Have checked bank statement and I have about £200 to last until payday on 25th!! Sadly it is my sister's bday on 23rd and she has had a rough year so would like to do something nice with her but I'm sure I'll think of something cheap to do.;)
Going to have a browse through the forums later for inspiration but for now there's ironing..............

  • Hi Cia,
Haven't got through your diary yet but working on it!
Just wanted to say that your DFD is probably similar to mine and i know it feels like a long way away but we will get there and i'm so glad these forums are here to let us all record it and let it all out!
Please remind me when i have a blip!
I feel like such a bore at the moment but i need to do this and get all our lives back on track.
What i'm trying to say is i'm with you for the long haul and you're doing fantastically.
Had a blip with Dh this morning, i asked if he's ever used a particular mug, as if not i'd ebay it, honestly i know i'm obsessed but he couldn't have been more obtuse  i don't blame him for all this as i'm the finance professional :p but he's abdicated all decision making and i feel pretty alone with this, hence the need for spilling here!

My sister's birthday is this month too, so i agree there, no money and no inspiration, so will be hoping you find a plan i can copy!

DH's bday is 20th - nightmare, why was he born in January!!!!

Cialilerin - your debt is similiar to mine and I too have high APR's, LBM came too late to ever ever get offers of 0% and most of our debt is on CC. Only have one loan and it ends next January (happy days)

One bright note you forgot to mention - imagine how high your debt would have been if you were only having a LBM this year!!
    LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.
    (CC/LOAN = [STRIKE]36,378.98[/STRIKE] 35668.47. O/D = [STRIKE]1255.32[/STRIKE] 1212.35/[STRIKE]1999.78[/STRIKE] 1934.52, BUS = [STRIKE]9769.76[/STRIKE] 8714.98)
    Challenge = Debt at 31/01/12 = £25k. 2011 Payments = £1,944.19/£24,403.84

There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!

    Thank you PWD and RED.
I played with the snowball thing yesterday and worked out that if we never ate or went out we could probably be debt free in 3 years ;), as that's not going to happen, it may be a bit longer.

Good news, going to Holiday on Ice tomorrow thanks to dd3 winning comp. Also I'm with Virgin Media and they are giving away free cinema tickets on 1st come 1st served basis each month so got free tickts to Morning Glory, realise my social life will need to be based around freebies.

PWD - will have to get heads together regarding sisters' bdays! Want it to be really special but cheap (or free ;) )
    Work today - lucky me!
