Ooh I hope you stocked up well! You're completely right, you can't expect to cut down perfectly first time, but as long as you have cut down a bit & wasting less then you're doing just fine
We are using up most of our freezer/cupboard stocks so next months budget will be £150 for the two of us, I'm hoping if that is easily done that we can get it down to £100, but we'll see!
If you aren't already, then meal planning really is the way forward, not just for saving money but for weight loss too! As in if one day you treat yourself to that high in fat dish that you love, the next day you know you need to be better & have just some lean meat with lots of veg for example. Cooking from scratch is definitely a good money saver as well as being good for your waistline as you can control exactly what goes in it (no hidden fats, sugars etc).
Aww thanks, we're getting there - we have a good end goal to strive for though as we want to get married next year so need to clear the debts asap & get saving! My OH is looking to sell his car so if that goes ahead we'll be well on our way :j
I'll drink (some water) to that!

- 1lbs for me :j:j
The xmas biscuits have finally gone. My bf finished them off last night, thankfully.
Have a great week.
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Hi Louise! Would you be able to join me in with the challenge? I have a lot more to lose than the others...started at 17st 2 in September and target is 9st 9 so a total of 7st 7lb.
I was 16st 2 on Jan 1st and as of today I am 15st 13, weighing weekly and aiming for 7lb a month, aiming for 10st 2lb by the end of the year...so aiming for a loss of 84lb over the year as a whole.
Obviously I'll save a lot of money just by cutting down calories, but we're also on a very tight food budget this year too so will keep everyone posted on that.
Thanks x0 -
Hi alli was just reading the thread and i wondered if it was ok for me to join in 1 would like to lose 2st and i need some motivation i have been trying on and off to lose weight but this has been proving impossible. I am pretty pleased with myself this week - I've lost 2lbs! :j
The lack of cider has really paid off! :rotfl:
Current stats:-
Weight: 10 stone exactly
Bust: 37 inches
Waist: 28 inches
Hips: 39 inches
I feel so much better in myself as well, instead of having an almost constantly bloated stomach which made me look about 5 months pregnant I actually feel a bit slimmer now, & although I still have a bit of a tummy I don't feel ashamed of it so much
If I lose another pound I will just be within the middle weight category for taekwon do which will be good when I decide to start competitions, as I was only just into heavyweight before meaning I'd be up against much bigger people than me!
Good luck everyone else x:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Just about to update the tracker so far, for the newbies if I have thanked you then that means I have seen your post.
Some great losses posted so far, well done:j
I have managed to lose 1lb this week and MrJ is a STS. Quite happy with that after a turbulent week (again) and it appears that next week won't be much better. Hopefully then things will start to settle down.
I have a very sore and swollen throat this morning and glands are so swollen that I look like a bullfrog, after starting to feel rubbish yesterday afternoon when clearing out MIL's house. Looks like it might be tonsillitis, which I havent had since I was a child:eek:
Lots of warm drinks, rest and paracetemol and a couple of days off work (which I no longer worry about anymore). But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
STS this week, it hasn't been a good week for me. I'm back in a uni block and I just can't seem to diet while I am there. I have no willpower plus I get so hungry, much more than if I were at home. I usually end up nipping into starbucks on campus to get a latte and a muffin
. I wish I could eat the diet bar things, I think I would be ok if I could have those but my soy allergy means I can't have them. I've tried taking fruit but that just doesn't do it for me.
I'll try harder next week.:A

I haven't weighed in today....I can't see I will have lost as I have had a wonderful weekend that included food and wine.......and a fair bit of chocolate
However, did quite a bit of exercise over the weekend so that would have counterbalanced some of food I hope!
Am going to be looking at a proper new attack to my diet over the next couple of days to decide what is best for me."Stay Wonky":D
