i'm not following any specific diet per se, just eating better....cutting down on cr*p....and portion sizes...and snacks...and ALCOHOL! i think not drinking from Mon-Thur and swopping from cider to vodka when i do drink has helped enormously. :)

Well done on your loss Thrifty!! I'm doing pretty much the same as you and it seems to be working - I've lost another 3lb this week so total loss now 8lb. Just spent half an hour doing 'Just Dance' on the Wii - won't do it if anyone watching me though as I think they'd die laughing! :rotfl:

Yay, I use myplate! I find it incredibly helpful to track calories on there, wouldn't be able to do it on my own!

I am getting more into a positive mindset about healthy eating/exercise this week. I am reigning in the evening scoffing sessions and trying to be more mindful of what I eat in general. Still haven't started running again yet as injured myself last year and had to have physio, but have now been told I can start again (I am working up to it!)

I recently bought the 30 day shred DVD, but I am frightened just looking at the picture of the scary lady on the cover. I've noticed a couple of people have mentioned it on this thread... please reassure me I won't keel over from doing this, it looks like very hard work!?! :D:o Does it tone you up as well? I really need to tone my arms/legs/stomach. Can't afford gym membership at the moment, so have to make do with walking/exercise bike/stepper/exercise DVD's.

Me and my Mum and sister are also going to do a weekly weigh in and a walk every Sunday starting this week.

OH has been told he has high blood pressure and cholesterol, so we are also going to be eating more healthily due to this. He is moaning already though, due to having his crisp/chocolate habit severely restricted.

Cider is a weakness of mine too :o Especially funky fruit flavoured ones like Kopparberg...oops.

I am trying to do the same thing as you though so hopefully it'll pay off, but I need a tad more willpower to put down the bottle & pick up the trainers :rotfl:

    Hi Everyone

Bit of an eventful week for us so its the first chance I have had to update the tracker. Things feel as though they are starting to settle down somewhat now, thankfully.

    Fantastic losses so far :T

Most of the week has been spend either not having time or the inclination to eat followed by a huge takeway last night with the family. Tonight we are off to an Indian restaraunt for Mums Birthday but I have decided only to have a starter for my main course which should cut down on the cals:A

My turn to drive to so will have a diet coke.

Tomorrow is weigh in for me and I have no idea what they will say?
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
  • whatever they say Lou - just keep going forwards. You've had loads on your plate recently and you deserve to be kind to yourself and pamper yourself xx
