I am NOT getting on the scales, expecially after the week I have had. Trust me, you would have to cut the rope I would be hanging myself with!Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0

Good morning everyone and welcome to the thread loonylamb and Kazzabell.
Today I will mainly be catching up on housework and must fit in a 6 mile walk at some point.
No hangover from last nights date with Mr JD so that is a bonus:DBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
2 pounds off for me so 4 stone 9 in total (and 14 pounds on this challenge).
As this was a week to add a small amount of food (ie a tin of tuna/some chicken/some chick peas) I'm fine with 2 pounds as I knew my body would grab the extra couple of hundred calories each day. I also expect my glycogen stores have filled a little but I'm now back on soul source so am hoping for something like 4 pounds next week (although anything is cool).
This week has taught me a few things
- how little extra food to the 'norm' the body needs before weight loss slows. 11 weeks of less than 500 calories has become the 'norm' and whilst that's a tiny amount, my body has quickly adjusted. Even an extra 250-300 calories a day will seem like a huge amount and this shows in the loss this week
- my habits aren't eradicated yet. I was fine with chicken or chick peas in the soup. I was still on 3 'meals' a day. On the 2 days I had some tuna and leaves and then a soup I was craving the tuna as soon as I got in from work. This is just one of my old snacking habits rearing its ugly head and shows I still have a long way to go to properly re-train my brain
- Doing something like SW would never have worked for me. Although I once lost nearly 5 stone, I plateaued and then went backwards and since then every attempt had failed after about a 10 pound loss. No wonder I was frustrated with such small losses when I was eating piles of rice, pasta, potato and other 'free' foods each day! My body just didn't need it.
They are just thoughts for me obviously as different things work for different people. I was reading up on the maintenance side of CD and it seems that losing the weight is just the first stage of the journey. It's going back to eating 'normally' that will be the real challenge!"Stay Wonky":D

Well done for this week BB, I know that you were worried about the introduction of food but you have handled it really well.
I felt it was easy to get stuck in a rut with SW so I lost and put the same few lbs over and over again. I did feel healthier on it though and had less heartburn and indigestion.
OH lost loads doing the extra easy plan but he did also walk his legs off every day.
I feel really sluggish and unhealthy at the moment so really need to take this seriously again:oBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
although I didn't feel the urge to go mad and eat (there's quite a bit of chocolate in the house I could have eaten) it was interesting that as soon as extra food was 'allowed' I wanted to eat it.
I know what you mean about SW. It is easy to get in a rut, however varied the lists. For me, although SW is great and satisfies my carb addiction it is never going to change my attitude to portion control or the frequency of when to eat. It's all too easy to swap a dish of SW free food for a load of junk and I wouldn't be changing any habits or patterns. I do know I could do SS+ easily with adding meat and veg. to soup which is a good step forward but for now I'll stick to SS and maybe see where I am habit wise in 12 weeks when I'm due to do add a meal again. The holiday could be a bit of a battle with food but I'm going to try to be sensible."Stay Wonky":D
