Congratulations on the better job Sashybo! Over the Moon for you.:j Wedding was great but seems soo long ago now.
Hello boredofbeing, part of the New Year Resolution is to make more time for life, but that doesn't mean I can keep burying my head in the ground so need to make time for MSE.

Well today was an interesting one. My and the OH may have had a tad too much last night and as a result found getting out of bed a huge struggle. I surfaced about 4 with OH not seeing daylight at all today and getting up at 7. Feel somewhat guilty about wasting the day but on the plus side it made it an NSD so swings and roundabouts:whistle:

Hoping to have a quiet month, going for a dry one and doing the traditional health kick of trying to get to the gym 3 times a week. Hoping to last past 7th Jan!

Still need to sit down and work out a SOA but don't think my head is in the right place at the mo

    Not much to report today.
Needed to do a little shop - the one that seems to cost loads of things like floor cleaner, kitcken roll etc. Luckily because of our mortgage we got Coop vouchers so used those instead. Very proud of myself that we remembered them before they went out of date :j Although would never normally shop there as it's seems pricier. (May just because our local one is more like a corner shop)

Took down Christmas decorations. I've been in a bit of a grump since Christmas and would quite happily have taken them down before New Year but OH wouldn't let me. Still the house is looking tidier if a little bare! Need to find a spot for this large glass vase like thing that we bought in the Next sale. Loved it when I first saw it but they wanted £22 for it which was way above what wwe could budget for. Anyway saw it in the sale and it was reduced to £10, then when we went back to get it was reduced even further to £6! :D
Normally things I like are never reduced so was over the moon with this. We could really do with some living room furniture as the stuff we do have is mostly second hand and doesn't match. However, this time we are going to SAVE for it!!

In the midst of the fog of hideousness yesterday decided to have a curry tonight but we got a last minute invite to the inlaws for Sunday lunch so don't think we'll go for the curry now - saving us more money:j

Aww, thanks sazzle. Leaving my last job was the best thing I could have done - going into the toilets and crying every day just because I was there just showed that it wasn't the right environment for me. The job I'm in now can be a bit dull but the money is better, the benefits are better and most importantly the environment is a LOT better. I do work shifts now though so it can be more tiring in some ways.

Glad you had a great wedding.

Most definitely not the right environment for you Sashybo! You sound so much happier!

Well today was pretty non descript for my last day of freedom. Went for a run which near enough nearly caused me to be sick. Checked Nike + and Nov 11th was the last time I'd run:eek: which most likely explains the near death feelings!
Then I had hte rock and roll task of cleaning out the car, although still haven't managed to get rid of the smell that something is slowly rotting in there, honestly can;t figure out where it is coming from. Was also reminded that we need at least one new tyre, gonna get quotes tomorrow but that may be our £25 emergency fund used :o.

With the whole assisted conception malarky have been having regular reflexology and acupuncture which probably sounds like a waste of money to some people but I come out of each session feeling on top of the world. The girl I see is amazing, and each session is like counselling. Was having a lot of stress at work and I seem to be able to cope better with it...although I have been off for two weeks:whistle:

Am now sat watching OH play FIFA and finishing off a few bits and bobs for tomorrow. Discovered earlier on in the week that the website where most teachers get their learning objectives (and which I was trained in) has been dis something or other by the new government so not entirely sure if what I have planned is what I should be doing or not. Heigh Ho the joys of teaching!!

Also very quickly and in very small font gonna mention that we were both pigs yesterday and found ourselves in the local curry house at 9pm last night. Ahem!

Back on the health kick today though, although having to wean myself off chocolate:rotfl:

Really wanna look at our electricity and gas use. Any tips for cutting back anyone? Bit scared to turn our boiler off in case I have to defrost it again but now the weather has warmed up a bit am going to have to. Have suggested to OH that we have a night at least once a month/fortnight when we don't have TV or laptop on and talk to each other and maybe play cards. He suggested Wednesday, which I'm sure has nothing to do with him being out at the NEwcastle match:mad:

Well, not a bad few days, a NSD yesterday and only £1.20 the day before. At the clinic today so had to pay the outrageous parking prices. You can't pay up to an hour now so have to fork out £2.50:mad:

Had a few bits to return which had to be paid for as well.
Still humming and harring about getting a flu jab. Think my local Sainsburys still has some in. Haven't had one before but am beginning to wonder if I should working with children.

Looking forward to the weekend and doing absolutely nothing :j

Don't know about the flu jab tbh. My mum has bad asthma and is meant to get the flu jab every year but she now refuses to because the last two times she got it she was really ill. (with flu) Not sure if it was coincidence or if she was just really unlucky though.

I've never had a flu jab either so no idea what it's like or if it's worth getting. I think I only had the flu once or twice when I was younger. Hmm.

    Hi sazzle,

Have only just found your thread and there's a few pages to catch up on so...sorry if I'm repeating what's already been said but I read your opening post and wanted to reply.

I'm a teacher too and managed to boost my income in little ways last year: musicmagpie, ebay, amazon and car boots for selling stuff.

I also now teach 1-1 tuition on a Saturday morning. I only teach one boy and it's only an hour so doesn't affect my marking and planning but is an extra £25 towards debts.

As for magazines, I like the boots magazine, it's free but is filled with health and beauty advice and the asda magazine, lots of recipes and special offers.

Ummm... think that's it for now. Will try and catch up with your diary and see what I can add!

Hope the moneysaving is going well. xx

:o Ha! Just realised your original post was 12 months ago so I'm a little out of date.

Good luck with your continuing challenges anyway!

Just to say a friend of mine has acupuncture as part of her preparation for IVF and she's loving it. It has really helped with the stress of the process which has been nearly 18 months long so far. Glad to hear it's helping you too. xx

Thanks for the advice Loumac, I thought about the 1to1 tuition and got as far as applying to the LA, may have to chase that up.

I was worried about actually getting flu after the job - my mum says it's not true but it would just be my luck!! Think I just need to be extra careful about washing hands etc.

Well had NSD today, was supposed to go for a run tonight but the weather is miserable and ...well I could give a load of excuses but TBH just couldn't be bothered :p.

Started off on my injections today. OH couldn't get out of work yesterday to do the training so having to inject myself . It was not pleasant! Luckily the clinic loaned my some until I'm in next week as no where will take my prescription!! Everywhere local says they dont know what it is ??? The lcinic told me a chemist over the road sold it, but I wasn't too sure where oever hte orad was and din't fancy spending another £2.50 for parking as I was pushing my time limit.
Looks like I may have to spend the weekend trying to find a pharmacy that will stock it.

So looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Have loads of work for school to do that I managed to put off quite efficiently during the Xmas hols. Wish I could be that efficient when actually doing the planning.

Need to give myself some sort of treat as a reward for getting my work done tomorrow morning!!
