    Hurrah it's Payday :j:j:j

So after the excesses of the past 3/4 months, it's time to really buckle down and get a tight hold of finances again.

So have decided to go back to the tried and tested money out for food at the beginning of the month, keeping vouchers and giving ourselves a tight budget. We reckon we can make do with £120 a month for food. Especially as I stocked up on things like toilet and kitchen roll last month.

Had someone out yesterday to give us a quote for new living room carpet. Somehow the carpet went up by £2 a square yard from the shop to our house and our living room increased in size by 10 sq yards :rotfl:Needless to say we are looking at alternatives. It's annoying as it was a local independent company and I would have loved to support them, and their prices INSTORE were cheaper. May be worth getting on the phone andmaking sure their quote has correct prices.

Anyway, nothing else really to report. Just need to keep ourselves focussed and on target. I know we can do it, it's just getting outrselves back in the mindset.

Good luck sazzle - I'm sure you can do it if you're determined!

As for carpet quote, we went with local company and were able to haggle with them. Give it a go...you never know! xx

  • Well a week back at work and it's like I've never been away!
Have slowly but surely been a lot better with money this month (although we aren't half way through yet :p) Our weekly food budget is going well - only spent £28 last week which is amazing for us:j. Also put a dress on over the weekend and it was huge - got on scales to find I've lost 4lbs :j. Think its more likely to be muscle loss as haven't been able to run but still over the moon with that!!
Just in middle of getting boiler serviced, hasn't been done since we moved in so thought it was a good idea. Also got MOT and road tax this month. We really do need to start a fund for these but never seem to get around to it :o
If the car gets through its MOT it will be a small miracle mind!
Got a load of apples for free off a friend who has a tree in her garden, so busy making crumbles and all sorts to freeze for over the winter. Feleing very autumnal at the moment.

My neighbour put 4 bags of apples out with green collection today, I was heartbroken as love apple crumble! I guess the windy weather we've had meant they couldn't be saved. Sniff.

Well done on surprise weight loss. :j When are you thinking of getting back to running?

Enjoy the start of the new term. I finish for maternity on Friday so seems very strange being back knowing I'm finishing soon.

    xx
