It's not that hard we're not child abusers!!!!!! A slight tap on the bum/ leg/ hand.

Oh so its ok to do that to a baby !!!!!!

Its never ok to lay hands on a defenseless baby FULL STOP.

You should be stopping this behavaiour from your husband. Parents are there to protect their children not smack them no matter how much force and especially a baby.

you know nothing of my situation or the force - if I thought it was of child abuse level I would stop it - it is NOT!!!!! Do not make unfounded accusations.

You state your husband physically holds him down by his dummy so he cant move.

Maybe he does not cry when your husband puts him down is that he is scared that he will be pinned down by his dummy so he cant move.

He is to young to ask for help.
  • My advice is to get yourself and your child away from your husband.

You said that your OH forced him down by his dummy and didnt let him move. That IS abuse, no matter which way you look at it, and even if it doesnt cause physical damage it will cause psychological damage. You described it as forceful, and even admitted that you dont condone it, well maybe it is time to step up and inform your OH of that.

If you read the posts you would see the suggestions have either been tried or do not fit in with my way of bringing up my son. I asked for HELPFUL advise incase there was something I had not tried. I.e. money makers helpful suggestion about the sofa/ TV.

You quite rudely dismissed good advice and got rather defensive as pointed out by other posters. All of the suggested methods will work if you persivere with them and all people involved with the child sing from the same song sheet so to speak, if your trying one thing is OH and childminder doing exactly the same thing? also your child will be lacking routine with different people putting him to bed each night, there is no continuity.

HOW when he is half asleep when playing???

I don't put him for a nap when he is awake I put him for a nap when he is half asleep.

But you said that he naps until late, then gets up has tea and then goes to bed, why cant you just let him have 20-30 mins? or have tea a little earlier and put him to bed earlier?

  • OP, are YOU afraid of your husband? is this why you want to find ways to keep the child quiet?
