:j Now on annual leave for a week - what a nice feeling.
Had to go shopping tonight to help OH pick a necklace for his mum's birthday on Saturday. He just announced the other day that she had mentioned she would like a "chunky" necklace and apparently I would know what she meant. * I miss the shrugging smiley* Anyway her birthday is Saturday, so had to go tonight so he can post it tomorrow.
The danger of going shopping before dinner - we bought our dinner from M&S. *Head now hung in shame* We spent £20. In my defence we did buy some reduced stuff for dinners but I also needed biscuits.Oh dear.
I still need a new swimming costume as mother dear is dragging me to aqua aerobics on Friday morning. I'm scared. I have the feeling I will be the youngest person there since it's on at 10.30am on a work day.
Still dreading interview but trying not to think about it. This is my strategy for bad stuff:
- Don't think about it.
- Think about it and panic.
- Resume not thinking about it until it's too late to do anything constructive.
Not a good plan. Anyway interview is not until 2pm so have time in the morning to think about what I'm going to say.
Planning on doing some birthday shopping for OH afterwards as will be in town and also need to buy a decent swimming costume that's not too dear. Where is good to buy a swimming costume? Could do with some tops for work as well but will see how the money is doing.
Going to have some tea and biscuits while reading all my subscribed threads now. :beer:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Good luck for the interview!!
Couple of top tips from me:
1. Don't drink lots of tea/coffee today. That combined with the nerves will make you pee
2. Look the interviewer in the eye, smile, fake being confident. They won't know that you're sh*tting yourself
3. Never be afraid to say "Could we come back to that" if they ask you something and your mind goes blank. I have done that in my last two interviews and got the jobs both times. It looks as though you're taking extra care to think about a good answer and stops you worrying as well (Otherwise you would be sitting going "Oh gods, I didn't answer, I'm doomed" etc)
4. Sneakily wipe your sweaty hands on your jacket/trousers before shaking the interviewers hand
GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks FF.
Not long to go now, worried as not sure what they will ask in the interview. Also if I get through the interview I will have to do tests with Microsoft Word and typing. So worried about that too.
Trying hard to be positive, hate being such worrier.
On another note, why does the postman always wait until you're in the bath before knocking the door with a parcel?! Answering the door dripping wet is always a good look.:rotfl:

The interview wasn't too bad, didn't think I did great - all of the what are your transferable skills, why do you want to work here etcs. Then had to do the typing test - two different ones for speed and accuracy. Luckily not complicated.
Then trailed about the town for ages looking for presents for OH's birthday. Bought two tops for work for £4 from Dunnes, was quite pleased with that. Bought some nice soap from Lush and the girl gave me a free mini bath bomb.
Now the bad part, spent £25 on a swimming costume. Had real trouble finding any since it's January. But did find a couple of nice things for OH too.
Just as I was finishing up in town I got a call from the admin bank saying my interview was successful. So they will be sending out a letter with the details and I need to wait for Disclosure and references before getting any assignments.
Not sure how I feel about it - glad it went well and I now have a back-up for my fixed term job - but it is only bank admin work and so not guaranteed. My fixed term runs out in July and been told it's unlikely to be extended. The admin bank work will just be like agency work within one big organisation and will be good experience but not great pay and will be more travel costs.
I'm undecided. I don't really like my current job and it's not likely to be extended so it might just be best to go to the admin bank now and build up experience and possibly get a permanent post through it. But the fixed term is better pay and no travel costs. Hmm.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Wish me luck - I'm off to do some exercise soon. I'm tired after trailing round the shops yesterday so not looking forward to this!
Going to the gym with my mum and aunt then going to see my friends in the afternoon so will be a sociable day for me.I need some energy though.
Also need to take library books back and post bookmooch books. Withdrew £10 from the Jackpot Joy free fishing game yesterday. Redeemed on Harrispoll so should be getting £25 in my paypal account from them soon. :TSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Very achey after (just) surviving the aqua aerobics class this morning. I am sooo unfit! Was also the youngest person there.
Went for lunch with my mum and aunt then went to see my friends - just spent time catching up and recovering from the exercise. Didn't get round to taking library books back or posting other books, will try to do that tomorrow.
OH wants me to help bottle more beer tonight - should be fun. :undecidedSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Hi Sashybo
A very quick reply to say WELL DONE! Congratulations on the job, even if you do have mixed feelings about it.

Thanks sazzle.
Still undecided about it but glad it is another option now at least.

Managed to get to the library today, returned books and got a few new ones out to keep me going. Dragged OH along and he asked me to get Gordon Ramsay's Fast Food cookbook out for him. Hoping he will find some nice recipes now.
Having a dine in £10 meal tonight - not sure the wine is a good idea though.
Still haven't posted the Bookmooch books - can't face queuing in the post office then having to weigh the books, then argue with the person behind the counter cos I want to send the books surface mail instead of air mail - it's cheaper after all!
Ah the Dooyoo weirdness strikes again - another message about my new review and something I missed out. Weird, weird and some more weird. Oh well.
Finally got to redemption on My Voice and requested £20 of M&S vouchers. Also requested £10 M&S voucher from Valued Opinions and cashed out £10 from Bingo scratchy.
Made the minimum payments to the ccs plus a bit extra as it was payday yesterday. We were in the O/D again by about £400 this month so a bit depressed about that, find it really hard to budget and just can't seem to live on what is coming in.
My leg muscles are pretty sore today after the exercise yesterday - I really am unfit. Would like to do some classes but it's £5 each time unless you have membership and that works out about £300 per year. Just couldn't afford it right now and worry that I wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost. Maybe once we have got rid of some of the debt it might be an option.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Been very lazy today, planning on doing a good clean of the house tomorrow since both OH and I are off work. We need to gut the spare room (again) as it's full of junk (again). OH has a friend coming up on Thursday to stay for a long weekend so that will make him want to tidy the house. :T
Really need to do some shredding as well since the pile is getting quite big, just hate doing it, so boring.
Better run, OH has just put dinner out. Not sure I want to see the state of the kitchen though, it always looks like a bomb's hit it when he cooks!Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
