All is quiet here... hope everything is ok Sashy.
Remembered yesterday about your very kind offer of a sock monkey. Would that still be possible? Don't want to add extra pressure to you!! xxBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Hey psycho, everything is okay, just feeling very tired and too lazy to post! Of course I can still make a monkey, might take me a couple of weeks though, just PM me. Just posted some pics of my last monkey on facebook. One of my sister's neighbours saw my nephew's soldier monkey and asked for one for her disabled daughter, offered to pay as well. So making one for her as well since her daughter makes hand-made cards for my sister's kids.
Thankfully paid today and OH was paid yesterday so we are okay for now - getting a chinese soon and waiting on a Tesco order being delivered. I'm also off until Wednesday. :j
Had a busy day today, took my mum shopping and had to rush about as she had shopping coming and told my sister she'd pick up the boys from school. Then had a bit of a bump with the car when I reversed it into a stupidly parked truck in my mum's cul de sac. It was blocking half the turning circle and my car has a stupidly big backside. Luckily the car is fine but still had to give my details - their bumper was a bit bent but that's all, I was hardly reversing at speed! It was a company truck so hoping they won't think it's worth pursuing through insurance. Still really annoyed about it though.
Off to Edinburgh for lunch with my friend from university tomorrow, looking forward to that although weather has been pants.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Had a nice time in Edinburgh yesterday and enjoyed some yummy cocktails with my friend. Was home by 10pm though as behaved myself.
Horrible weather again today and just internet surfing with a pile of kitties on my lap - they're actually piled on top of each other the weirdos. :rotfl:
Think we might venture out to Makro later as need to bulk buy some things that work out cheaper from there.
OH made me get up as he wanted to have croissants for breakfast - I've still not seen any! He did make me french toast when I got home last night though as I had a craving for it.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Hi gilly, things have been okay, we are still trying to work out a budget and not go overboard with the spending but everything seems to be breaking/needing replaced at the same time.
OH needs new shirts for work, new trainers and new t-shirts and our pedal bin broke as the bit attaching the lid to the mechanism turned out to only be a bit of plastic! It's a Brabantia bin though, so we should have a guarantee on it and can hopefully get the bit we need replaced. OH is going to check it out but not sure if we needed to register it when we bought it - don't think we did.We also really need a new windscreen for the car as we have chips in it that are too close together to be repaired in case the whole windscreen cracks. Think we need to pay roughly £100 excess on the insurance for it.
Had a fairly laid-back day today, took an ebay parcel to the post office for OH and posted a couple of books for Bookmooch as well. Then took some books back to the library and bought some toiletries.
Going to make some chicken and onion pie later with the leftover chicken from the roast OH made last night. Did some cleaning and washing before going out so can relax for now.
Posted a couple of new reviews on Ciao and Dooyoo as well as have neglected them lately and will be wanting the Amazon voucher from Dooyoo before Christmas - about halfway there just now.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. OH is away for a long weekend now with friends and I'm working lates.
My shift today was good though as was sent to another office to observe and then got sent home early. :j
Not been up to much as been feeling very tired again. Sky+ the first episode of The Apprentice last night and watched it this morning, all I can say is :rotfl: "My first word wasn't mummy, it was money" :rotfl: Love the deluded people on that programme.
Went to see my mum and pick up some tablets for her on Tuesday. Made fishfinger sandwiches with tomato sauce for us, yum yum.
Got a new phone last week - free as testing it for six months. :j Can't really work it yet though - am very useless with technology! The volume is really quiet when I call people and can't work out how to turn it up.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. There are always 2 distinct types on the Apprentice, the ones that are so full of themselves and push themselves forwards, and the ones who just get on with it in the hope they'll survive the early stages. This time round, there is a blonde woman in the first category, and most of the blokes.

Hi gilli, was working lates Friday and Saturday but have today off. :j The Apprentice is one of my favourite programmes for the sheer idiocy of the people on it. :rotfl: I like reading the live blog as well on the Guardian website and reading other people's comments.
Got home from work at midnight last night had a bath and then went to bed. Got up and out about 10:30 this morning to go and get cat litter and food for them. Had a wander round TK Maxx with vague notions of looking for Christmas presents - didn't see anything though, so just got a t-shirt for OH from the clearance section. It was only £7 and very nice so was pleased with it.
Saw some nice cushions and was tempted as the covers on the ones I have are ripped in places as they're silk and the cats keep catching their claws on them. Thinking about maybe getting material and trying to make new covers though as the inners of the cushions are fine. Might get my mum to teach me to knit again actually as saw some knitted cushion covers that were lovely a while ago - sounds horrible but they were really nice - beige wool with wooden buttons on the back.
No real plans for today, should really do some ironing but will see how I feel later. Am just going to relax as back on late shift tomorrow.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Finally replaced the windscreen on the car and the excess was only £70 instead of the £100 I thought it would be. Also got the broken part on our bin replaced and have been gutting the spare room that was full of rubbish. :j OH has put a few things on ebay and already sold some which is good.
We bought a new desk and some storage things from Ikea and are hoping to shift a few things around to make a bit more space.
Managed to finish the sock monkey I was working on and will start a new one for OH's friend's wee boy for his birthday next month.
Started my Christmas shopping the other day, so have a few bits and bobs as well as a present for OH's mum. :T
Money-wise we are doing okay and shouldn't go into the overdraft this month as long as we're careful. :jSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Aargh - OH rang me up to say his work are going to train him on supporting macs and now he wants to buy a macbook to "practice" on! This isn't helped by a friend of his who has just spent the best part of £2000 on one egging him on and saying he can get it on finance for £40 a month - yes for 3 years! I hit the roof and said no way - we have enough debt and plenty of other things we could use the money for.
He was trying to justify it by saying he was getting a raise at work blah blah etc but we haven't even had a holiday for 5 years! I want to pay as much off the debts as we can before the fixed rate on our mortgage is up in two years so we can get a decent rate on a re-mortgage or look at buying a house. I also want to save towards laser eye surgery and we would need to save if we wanted to get married - which OH keeps going on about.
He did back down eventually but still wants to build a new computer for himself. He will be getting some back pay from work soon so wants to use that for the new computer. On the other hand he has been using the money made on ebay to pay off his Capital One cc which is good.
Just needed a rant there.
I'm off work for a couple of days so will just enjoy that, think I will head out to the library later and will need to start my next sock monkey as well.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
