Didn't move yesterday but will be going out later with my mum to my sister's house.

Did shred this morning so feeling a bit more energetic for now. Might make a banana cake to take to work tomorrow since they love cake there. :D

Managed to make some accessories for my pirate sock monkey after some suggestions on the sock monkey thread and am quite proud of him. I think he looks a lot better and more pirate-y now. :D

Also made a start on the monkey I'm naming techno monkey for my OH's friend. He's into clubbing and lasers so have bought the brightest neon orange socks with coloured spots I could find. :rotfl:

I agree with Gill, to the point that I would top posting them on here, in case others nick your fab idea!

    Thanks gilli and mac. :D

Tbh I got the ideas from here myself on the sock monkey and sewing threads! Just trying my own interpretations. :D Loads of people make and sell them so not sure if it would be worth me doing as well. Happy to practice and make them as presents for now. :)

Back to work this afternoon for late shifts for 7 days. *sigh* Not looking forward to it but hopefully it will go quickly.

OH gets paid tomorrow which is good as we are totally skint. His pay should take us out of the O/D and pay some bills. When I get paid next week, my wage should cover the rest of the bills and hopefully give us a bit left over.

Will need to be careful with money and work out our budget with my new wage. Want to start saving towards car tax/repairs/MOT and factor fees again so the bills don't sneak up on us. Would also like to pay off a few of our smaller debts (so more can go towards the big ones) and save up for a short break later in the year. Long-term I want to save for laser eye surgery but that will take some time.

Made gingerbread last night but it's not very gingery despite putting 3 tsps of ginger in it. So a bit disappointed with it. :(

Feeling blah today and really can't face another 6 late shifts! :( Wish I was rich, I'm far too lazy for all this work nonsense! :o

No real plans atm, just pottering about until I start work at 2pm. Have practically no food in the house so will have to do an order online as won't have time to get to the supermarket. Will need to do that later or remind OH to do it.

Should really do some work on my next sock monkey but since I'm in a lazy mood I don't know if I'll get round to it.

Feeling so tired - on day 6 of my 7 days at work. :( Just have to get through tonight and tomorrow night then I'm off for two days, really looking forward to not having to go to work!

Not been up to much, OH has been quite good at doing some housework for me and doing the online shop.

Gave my nephew his pirate sock monkey and he was very happy with him but did seem to be more impressed by the cardboard sword than the monkey. :rotfl: Will need to repair one of my nieces' monkeys as my sister's puppy got a hold of it and there's two small holes in its side.

Will need to leave the house a bit earlier today as OH has dumped a pile of ebay parcels in the hall and told me I need to send them. They're pre-paid but still need to get a certificate of posting. Wouldn't mind so much but the queues in the post office are always crazy and really can't be bothered with it before starting work. :(

Still not done any more work on the monkey for OH's friend, will need to do it on my days off though as he's going to visit him next week for his birthday.

Only one more day to go then, its hard getting back into the swing of things.

Take it that the sending parcels thing is a bone of contention?? Its a Bank Holiday in England so we wouldn't be able to send parcels today.

The good thing about your sock monkeys is the personalities you put into them.

  • I forgot it was a bank holiday today.... i have bought a dress off ebay from someone in glasgow and i asked if she could get it to me before the weekend as she said 6-7 days on the listing, turns out she is sending it today! yippee!!

Oh and i've ordered this too... http://www.scenedead.co.uk/products/hr-03160-pencil-cherry-dress.html to wear for my friends hen night. have a horrible feeling they are out of stock though!!

your sock monkeys are ace sashy! and I agree with Gill... but just sell them to us lot, that would be enough to keep you going for a while!! x
