    ok - update.

Phoned insurer last night and they apparently wrote to me on the 14th asking for my documentation so they can do a valuation and make an offer. I've not had the letter so I had the list read to me and they'll send a copy letter. I'll sort that all out tomorrow night as I'm teaching tonight.

When I am ready to get my new car I can transfer the car onto my current policy. I was told to mention it was a smaller engine and I might get a small reduction in policy price. It will then all re-jig itself in August when it's up for renewal.

If she admits liability, I won't lose any no claims. If she doesn't (can't see she can dispute it!) I'll lose 2. There's no notes on my file yet for liability either way. He also said if she admits liability I don't lose my excess money from my payout, but I've included that in the solicitors claim so either way that should be covered.

Spoke to DVLA and need to do a letter and they'll ensure it's noted about my car being written off- another job for tomorrow!

Had a letter from the tax office. Last year I was paying £65 per month in tax for my self employed work through my salaried post. They cocked up and refunded me the money in November (around £500) and put me back up to the normal tax code even though I tried to tell them they were wrong. This has obviously been a nice addition to my salary and just about made things 'ok' each month for the last 2 months. I've had my April 10-11 code and they've moved last year's tax onto the new financial year plus my tax I need to pay for AQA for last year and it's now going to be £80 per month for the year.

Although I had the refund I was around £300 overdrawn at the time and then used the remainder for Christmas so I can't pay it off my account and reduce my tax bill. Means I'll have £80 per month less on my salary from April.

    Fabulous.

Not overly happy at work today. In my morning job my manager is a real stress drama queen and it makes for a grating working environment. I also asked to go on an in-house training course for my afernoon (contract) job and I was told it couldn't be funded (£60!) which was quite a good yard stick as to their intentions going forward. The training was part of the job - doing appraisals - but if they won't send me on the training it doesn't look as if they are looking at me being in the post permanently.

    Fabulous.

Where's the rolling eyes smiley when you need it most......ok, this will do instead

Off teaching tonight, really don't want to go. Still looks like I can't offload the course after half term so I'll have to start planning for that in the next week or so whilst still teaching this course.

I think it's time to move jobs all in really. I've decided not to go for the beach supervisor job as I don't fancy managing seasonal staff on 18k but I'm going to start looking with a bit more concentration now as it is all feeling a bit pants.

cheer Sally, just feeling like I need a bit of looking after really. I seem to be pulled in so many directions by so many jobs or people and I'm getting close to just wanting to sit in a room and not come out for a bit until they've all stopped asking me for help, wanting me to do stuff, needing to be in so many places doing so many things, looking up stuff online (usually for OH because he reckons his dongle connection is carp), it would just be nice for the world to 'stop' for a day and to be wrapped in a big lovely blanket somewhere and be looked after. To maybe have a bath run for me with lots of bubbles in it and then perhaps a long quiet cuddle and for someone to be doing it for me to keep the rest of the world away for a bit. I don't want much I don't think!

Oh well.........until then I'd better get ready and go back to work. I can't tell you how much I really don't want to go. All those years I wanted to re-train to be a teacher and now I'm doing it (albeit adults, not children) I realise it really isn't how I imagined it would be - even though my ex is a teacher!!! Thing is - he never had all this stupid paper work to do in his own time, all this planning etc. I sometimes wonder if where I work is OTT on it all.

    sneaky at work post.

New car is now insured. It cost me £31, which surprised me as I hoped it would go down being an identical car but a smaller engine. Turns out it's a £6 increase (well, ok with fluctuations etc) - and a £25 mid-policy change fee!!!! What a flippin' cheek for the pressing of a couple of buttons!

I shall be adding that charge to my claim.

Picking it up tomorrow as OH is working in Southampton today but is working from home tomorrow and I need dropping up to the garage to drive it back.
