I wish our bathroom was big - might make it more bearable. :D

£2850 for boiler stuff meaning £9250 for the bathroom. It's not that big, but the airing cupboard and tank need ripping out, the suite is being moved around to maximise space, fitted units around the loo and sink plus vanity unit. Scary stuff.

3 weeks worth of work they reckon for a couple of men at least.

Just a tip regarding bathrooms we got a quote for loads of fitted units build in loo sink etc and it was mega expensive. In the end our plumber used standard wall fitted loos and build them in using wood covered with tiles. Looks fantastic and much cheaper and obviously fit perfectly. Hope you understand what I am trying to say.

We do have expensive taste and ours cost £14k that was for a small bathroom, an ensuite which was turned into a wetroom and a cloakroom so yours does seem expensive. All fully tiled incl floors etc

Are you happy with the wetroom? How is it to clean and is there a risk that it could leak?

The wetroom is fab so nice to have a shower in it. I find it easy to clean spray the shower stuff on it and always wipe it down everytime I use it with a squezy. It has a special embrane underneath which was quite expensive but ensures it does not leak. Chap who fitted it was a total perfetionist so its perfect. Will try to find a link to a picture of it. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=663109&page=20 also some pictures of the cloakroom on page 22. Just looked at the final cost was £18k for all 3 rooms.

  • I am trying to make my evening more productive than than my day! Have logged on to both Topcashback and Quidco and worked out the best pay backs for betting sites, I join if the cashback is more than the deposit required, that way any winnings come as a bonus. Used to do these regulaly and found them quite lucrative then MSing took over!

Lost on the first one, but CB was £10 more than I deposited so still in credit and am up £15 on the 2nd (bingon):T Aswell as being £10 up as deposit was £10 and CB is £20:j

Thanks for the tips Tall girl. I just looked at your pictures and the work looks really good. Our bathroom is a good bit bigger than yours by looking at the spaces between the fittings.

We went through the full quote with the guy, and i do see what you are saying about having something custom made like that, but we really do need the cupboard space as we currently have an airing cupboard in the bathroom which stores a good bit of junk, and if we lose that we need to rejig how we store things.

The main cost for us seems to be because they are having to move so much pipework around, and our waste pipe runs down the inside of the house, so they have to work out a way of hiding it by extending out a false bit of wall from that to make the best use of the space.

They are looking at least 2 guys doing 3 weeks of work. When you work out wages for plumbers, that is where the cost is racked up.

We also want a P shaped bath which is a bit more expensive than a rectangular one, and the shower was about twice the cost of most others but heated the water up to a specific temperature before it comes on, and also had a self cleaning facility where when it hasn't been used for x hours it gives a short blast to clear limescale/bacteria.

It's interesting hearing your costs though so i really appreciate you taking time to post. I will certainly be looking at haggling the price again before we sign a contract. :D

TPA are you matched betting? I have thought of it but it scares me quite a bit.

Oh goodness no! Scares the living daylights out of me! Just doing all the betting ones that you deposit less than the cashback promised. E.G PaddyPower, deposit £10 get £20 cashback from Topcashback. Also won £10.87 and managed to withdraw so hopefully £20.87 up on that one. TonightI have joined 4 companies, two through Quidco two through Topcashback, with winnings and cashback I am up £68.87 (as long as all the cashback comes through) not a bad couple of hours work.:j

I'm glad it is not just me. :D I keep hearing people do really well with it but i just now it would all go really wrong for me. I would do just the silliest little thing and waste some. I might look at doing something like that. I was only thinking to myself earlier today a lot of people play the free bingo and scratch cards and seem to think it is ok.

I know i used to do some of the daily clicks and it really bored me to tears so i quickly gave up, but something like that sounds a bit better.

Regarding the match betting yes it is scary to start with but by taking the offers on Quidco you do limit yourself if you ever want to do MB properly. During Cheltenham Ladbrokes were offering £200 in free bets you just get £20 from signing up normally. Also with PaddyPower you should get a free bet once you have done your first bet but it needs to be a high odds or you will waste. Anyway if you need any help with Matchbetting just let me know it is not that difficult if you get someone to show you how to do it.

Cha97 sounds like you have a good quote as it is a lot of work to move things around something we did not need to do. Its just some places like Dolphin really rip you off with the price of their stuff. Don't skimp on things - get the cupboards you want or though you will regret it later.
