Morning! Hope everyone has had a good weekend!

The dinner party was nice on Saturday, not really a fancy dinner party but we all had a good time and my chilli went down very well (Nigella Express- best chilli recipe ever!) I drank a little too much wine though, had a headache yesterday! We went to see Avatar yesterday which was very good, and I got really excited because they had an advert for Toy Story 3- yay!

Nice to see you back Poddle, I'm glad you enjoyed SA. I'd love to go at some point, my parents lived there when they were about my age and they've got so many brilliant stories about the country that I want to see what they're always talking about!

When's your due date again CMD? I'm very excited for you! I was holding (well, pretty much kidnapped...) OH's friend's baby on Saturday afternoon, she's 3 months old and absolutely gorgeous! I got so broody! Our friends were all looking at me a bit funnily because they knew what I was thinking and OH was panicking! I have to be sensible and wait though... but I don't want to!

Sounds like a lovely party. Must look up the Nigella recipe. OH got an iPhone last week and got the Jamie Oliver application. He has already added some touches to some of our meals and they tasted way nicer :)

My due date is the 19th Feb so not long to go now at all. As Dinah says, you don't have too long to wait and in the meantime you get to plan your wedding as well, which is so exciting! My sister is researching for her honeymoon at the moment and I am helping her. It so exciting booking your honeymoon as it is a very special holiday :)

I know I should have saved the money, but I have no bathtime goodies left at all unless you count shampoo, and given how irritated I am at the moment thought the pretty smells might be calming!

I think you deserve a little treat! & Lush stuff is by far the best way to do it. I got some stuff from there at the weekend so I'm on a bit of a Lush-high!

Eee, not long till your due date now CMD! The guy I work with bought his little son in today, he's so coyute! (The son that is, not the guy I work with) I'm rubbish with babies though, other than picking them up I don't have a clue what to do!

Good luck with the diet challenge! I've already started mine so I'll step back from this one again. Was half good half bad last week, ate well during the day but snacked at night! So I've stocked up on chewing gum for a sugar fix & lots of green tea for when I want something other than water to drink. Lost 0.5lb last week so fingers crossed I'm better this week.

You're all my voice of reason! It's true, although thinking about it that way it doesn't seem like long and I'm getting freaked out now! I really want to be a Mum but I just don't think I'm ready yet, I'm sure once we're married we'll start to feel more settled and ready!

Oooh, I went to see my parents on Friday night and I was showing my Mum some wedding dresses online and she saw some that she liked for herself on one of the websites and said, 'Hmmm... it may be worth going over to America for a short trip to check out dresses since you want 2 and it'll be best to try them on before buying them' and I reminded her, jokingly, of a promise she made years ago to take me away somewhere special on my 25th birthday since I hadn't had a fuss made over any other 'big' birthdays and she said, 'Oh yeah, I remember that. Where do you want to go? New York? Boston? Florida? Let me know and I'll tell you if we can do it!'. How mad is that?! Now I'm in a quandry because much as I want to go I know that it'll cost a lot when we're there, even if it is only for 4 days, as my Mum likes to eat in *good* restaurants and she makes me buy things that I really don't need and I can't afford that. I just don't know what to do!

And to top it all off my bridesmaid, who is getting married next July, is putting the pressure on for me to get married in England. She keeps telling me about these special deals 'Get married in 2011 for £2011' ('it'll be musch cheaper than your wedding, that'll cost about £3.5k won't it?' Yes... but that's with everything included!) but she just doesn't get that that only covers the actual wedding ceremony and reception, there will still be flowers, cake, favours, cars, photographer etc to pay for and we simply can't afford all that; I'm not daft, I know that it'll mount up to about £6k+. Her wedding is being paid for completely by her parents and she just doesn't understand how much all of the little things cost. I think she just doesn't want to go to our wedding as they won't be able to afford it, which I understand and respect but I'd rather she just said, 'We can't come because it'll cost too much' than trying to constantly pressure me into an English wedding because it'll be more convenient for her. If she did say that we'd be able to move it to outside of school holidays too as her and her OH are the teachers that we're trying to accomodate! As much as I want them there I don't want to spend ages trying to get the right dates so they can come for them to tell us 6 months down the line that they're not coming!

Sorry for the long post, got carried away!

Re: your bridesmaid. I would nip that in the bud now and ask her if she wants to come. She is wrong to put pressure on you but you don't want someone there that is resentful. She owes it to you now to be honest and tell you how she is feeling as you don't want her pulling out at a later date.

You know what to do Birdie - take your mum up on her amazing offer, leave all your bank cards at home and only take cash with you so you don't overspend.

When we were looking there was a deal at a very nice hotel and it was £4000 for everything, day meal for 40, evening for 100, bridal suite, ceremony, a photographer, their DJ, a cake, flowers, master of ceremonies, basically everything but the rings, but it has to be what you WANT, at the end of the day money really isn't everything, you only get one chance at getting married and you know what you want from your wedding, and for you that has always been the tropical paradise not nessisarily having everyone you'd like there, and thats fine, the most important thing is to look back on the day with no regrets.

Urgh, that sucks Dinah! Sounds about right, everything seems to be a standard 6 weeks wait with the NHS now. It's no good when you're sat at home waiting though!

    Morning everyone!

Dinah thats not good about the scan date! Does that mean you will have to stay off work until the scan date?

Birdie - very annoying about your friend who keeps going on about an England wedding, you may be right that shes just saying it because she cant afford to go abroad.

Another boring day here for me, not at work today so going to the gym, then have a pile of washing and ironing to sort out. Fun fun fun!
