Worryingly my reduced budget has still got me spending £100 on a camera for my brother. I don't think I really 'get' restraint!

Oh dear, I don't think you do! OH still wants to get each other lots of presents but I'd really rather not, I can't think of anything we really want/need and we don't need any more junk! I think I'll do him another hamper-type present full of not-terribly-expensive stuff but looks awesome, although I've no idea how to top last year's Star Trek one! I've told him that it's his job to fill my advent house this year and I've been trying to hint at little presents he can put in the windows... but I'm fairly sure that he'll remember on the 30th November and just put a gummy bear in each day! I may have a word with his Mum and ask her to help him!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Ooooh I'd like a PM please! 'Cos I'm nosy!
And me please! Thanks for explaining Birdie
Oooh Christmas! I've been putting £25 a month away all year so will have £300 to spend but am aiming for the less is more aproach definitely - no idea what I'm going to get anyone yet though! Also realised I have about £6 in Dooyoo points so rather than waste them going to try and bump them up to payout level at some point and put them towards pressies as well - need to work out things to review which actually get decent points!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Your big secret you ninny! :rotfl: We're looking forward to finding out what you've been working on!
Yep, you've got us all intrigued! and i LOVE Birdie's use of 'ninny' - I don't think I've ever heard anyone say it in real life
Good idea for NIM to change his course, I could think of nothing worse that struggling with something that I don't understand and don't enjoy!
Too right - you'll never do your best at something you don't enjoy.Ah right lol! Well I can let you know soon hopefully, I just have this complete phobia someone from work will stumble across my thread. Can pm you if you really want to know?!
Done most of my Christmas shopping this morning, usually I get everyone hundreds of little bits, this year they're not getting so spoilt!
OMG, that's ridiculously organised! I've been trying not to mention Christmas until November... but it's not *that* long away (YAY! :j)but I'm fairly sure that he'll remember on the 30th November and just put a gummy bear in each day! I may have a word with his Mum and ask her to help him!
Lol, definitely get his mum on side!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Ninny is very underused IMO, I might try to bring it back!
I've invited myself round to the in-laws for tea so I think I'll have to work the advent house into the conversation! Ah the Advent House! I was sojealous last year finding out what you'd got each day - I was thinking 'All I got was a chocolate robin'
Just picked up my Boots Gift Guide - feeling very festive!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Oh that's nothing compared to OH's jealousy! He was bright green with envy and kept asking where his extra presents are... he doesn't realise that I'm my Mum's baby and she's alway's going to spoil me a bit more than everyone else... and he should be going to his own Mum for treats! He'll be getting his advent sack again this year unless I can be bothered to make a proper calendar type thing, which I don't think I can be! He's asked that I get him better presents and wrap them properly this year too, cheeky sod!
My Mum got really excited when the Boots gift guides came in and brought them home before they were supposed to be out on display! I always feel like Christmas is well and truly on the way when I get that book and make my little x's next to everything I like, I've been doing it forever!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Did you find nice things to add to your christmas list Tete?
I was at OH's parents' last night and told MIL about the advent house so she's going to help him fill it with decent things! I also had a look through one of her craft mags and they had an advent calendar made from little buckets like this:
I'm thinking I might make one for OH, but then when I was having a little Google for more ideas I saw this:
Now I'm torn, do I go for teeny buckets or cute baby socks?!
Oooh and it's official that I love MIL, I told her about a lovely fur shrug I'd tried on in Monsoon to wear to the registry office but I'd had to put it back because it was £60 () and she told me to buy it and she'll give me the money! Bless her, I really think she enjoys finally having a girl to spoil, we really are more fun to buy for than boring boys!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
