I have a funny feeling that once we get back from Florida next year we'll end up convincing each other than we should just get on and make a baby, which is scary, and probably not the most sensible thing to do but people worse off that us manage fine so it'll be OK... argh, I shouldn't be convincing myself! :rotfl:
So many people wait and wait for the right time to have a baby, and sometimes there can never be a right time. Equally you could keep saying lets wait til we are more financially sercure, but things always crop up. Like you say people in much worse positions manage.
If you both want a baby you should go for it! You will be married, have your own home, what on earth is stopping you!!!

Hehe, you're totally right Flower. There's never a perfect time to have a family really so we should just start one when we feel the urge! It could take us ages to actually concieve anyway, who's to say that if we start trying next October we'll have a baby by July, it could take until the following July or longer, although I hope it'll be quicker than that! We'll take stock when we get back from honeymoon and see whether we want another year of guaranteed freedom or if we want to see what happens baby-wise. OH's totally into babies right now and I can only see that getting more intense over the next year!
It's quite sad but I'm really looking forward to my first Christmas at home with my new little bundle and starting our own little traditions, like we've decided that we're going to make our Christmas parties into a yearly thing so everyone knows that 2 weeks before Christmas they'll be at our house eating my awesome chilli and not-so-awesome flat cupcakes!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Thats not sad, its sweet! Obviously I dont know your financial position, but to my knowledge your not ten of thousands of pounds in debt, you and your OH both have jobs and a stable home. Not that i'm trying to pressure you into having a baby :rotfl::rotfl:Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
I agree with Flower about there never being a right time, that is kind of what OH and I decided. It does help though with Oh earning more than me etc. We did work out we would be able to afford it which is only reason we went for it.I was off the pill for a good while before it happened but some people are lucky and it happens straight away.
Dinah - think you are right about the clothes! Apparently takes a lot longer to show when is your first.0 -
See while we both work we couldn't afford to pay the morgage and bills on just NIMs wage and 25% of mine (effectively maternity pay) so I don't feel we can yet. Plus all the holes in the floor atm make it a bit baby un-friendly - I feel like a horrible person even expecting the cat to live here! I have an implant due to be replaced next October so I think we'll take stock of things a bit more then, we don't want to be older parents, but equally I feel like once we start a family my career prospects are pretty well reduced so we need to be comfortable before we start trying.
Very exciting meeting last night, looks like hopefully we'll be launched in two weeks! Website won't be for another few months though.
NIM has started on the second year of his OU course, the two modules this term are both computing ones rather than maths, and one of them (Java) he is finding like learning Chinese. So he's calling the OU today to try and swap off BSc Computing and Statistics and onto BSc Mathmatics and Statistics. There might be an admin fee but its better than him failing horrendously!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Haha - made me laugh but you're putting yourself down - those burger cakes looked amazing! There might be an admin fee but its better than him failing horrendously!
And better than him doing something he's not enjoying too. Bet the cat loves living in a half-finished place - sooo much more interesting and more opportunity for mischief!

Ooooh I'd like a PM please! 'Cos I'm nosy!
We've put limits on Christmas this year, £30 per person for my family (from each couple) which is loads less than we normally spend and OH's side are doing secret santa with a £25 limit, I've got the idiot brother to buy for so all I have to do is get something stupid and he'll be happy, hopefully I can get something from Boots with Mum's discount so will only be spending about £15-£20 for something worth £25! :money:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
