Ooooooh what wonderful news Wendz! I did a little excited dance for you when I read that, congratulations! :j

You're right about the financial side of having a baby Dinah, we're nowhere near financially ready even if we'll be able to cope emotionally now IYKWIM. I need OH to pull his finger out and sort out a super job! Or I need my Dad to sell his business for squillions and give me a share... fingers crossed that happens, maybe we'll see pigs flying too!

I don't really have any chocolate recipes to share, I'm really not a good baker so have kind of given up! OH doesn't like me baking anyway because I make too much of a mess! :o

He sounds like mine! He's always coming in and getting under my feet trying to wash things up as I use them  Thinks Nigella's now his ideal woman because she said she always reuses implements as she goes along, giving them a little rinse first - bl00dy perfect posh cow!

LOL, that's not my problem, it's just the clouds of flour everywhere and blobs of cake mix and icing on the floor that he doesn't like! I don't know why... :rotfl:

    Wendz -

    :j:j CONGRATULATIONS!! :j:j

That's absolutely wonderful news! Are you both really excited? When did you find out?

Birdie, I can't believe it's going to be your wedding so soon either. You'll just be flying off when my fieldwork in Uganda is ending. Today I went to the first repair shop, it was great. I have really realised just how much there is to do in the next 8 weeks though....

    Congratulations Wendz!!! :D

Birdie - I thought of you today. At work today we had a new range of cards come in and some of them are with barbie dolls on. They are pictures of sunsets with a real barbie doll lying on a sunlounger, think there was one of ken and barbies dancing - again actual pictures of the dolls rather than cartoon pictures.

Hehe... I have that on a vest! :o I'm even sad enough to know that it's Malibu Barbie! :rotfl: I'll have to nip to the card shop to have a look though, might be nice to get them as thank you cards for my Hens! Or to just keep for myself...

ah wow, Wendz, that's brilliant news - congratulations!!

I've totally forgotten everything else I was going to say now :D
Birdie, I think you should definitely be giddy with excitement! It's bonkers how much all our lives have changed since Dinah's first thread.

It seems like hardly any time at all since I got my job, but it was a 9 month contract and I've been there since July 2009, so not bad going! I'm fine 'til the end of the year, but I'm past the 'relieved to have a job' stage and want to get back to do something I love.

Ooh, I was going to ask for ideas to stay around Harrogate in November. I was thinking York for a couple of nights before my bro's wedding - a nice B&B or cottage would be nice - so any advice gratefully received :)

Dinah, am jealous of your baking! I'm trying to eat healthily and cut my food budget, so it's a bl00dy bad time for chocolate week!

Tete, I bet Nigella doesn't wash up as she goes at all; she probably just throws things away and gets new ones! (But she does look fabulous for 50...)

Is your brother getting married at Ripley Castle Poddle? York's a fair way out if you're planning on heading back to your hotel after the wedding, about 40 minutes plus time to actually get into and around York. You'd be better off in Harrogate which is lovely. I always drive past this Boutique B&B on my in and out of town and want to stay there, but can't really justify it considering that I only live 25 minutes away!

Have you got any ideas of what you want to do whilst you're up here? I've got plenty of suggestions if you're after any!

I can't believe Nigella's 50! I had to Google it to make sure... I thought she was only about 40, that's insane! Clearly cooking yummy things is good for the skin!
