Well I've just found the huge posiive of NIMs cousin booking her wedding for 5 days after ours - our costs are a lot less than expected, and instead of a £4900 shortfall we're looking at a £2400 one - much better!

That's great, but how so? Did I miss something?

Well done on all your toning up - i'm impressed that you can bake without giving into temptation :D But it's only a few weeks and then you'll be on honeymoon and you can do whatever you like!

  • Hi! Yes all is well, very back and forth though as still don't have everything in the new house - it's very tiring :( How are you?

I'm okay thanks - bruised and battered from trapeze and knee deep in decorating still, but things are heading in the right direction :)

Glad things are good with your rental, it must be so nice to have your own space. Even if it does take ages to get settled... It took us years before we became a proper household and had things like string!

I'm just trying to find some replacement tiles for our hall - the originals looked v smart, we only discovered recently that they were vinyl, but they are now missing chunks due to removing storage heaters etc. OH has banned from me from looking at the Cath Kidston spotty vinyl tiles *pout* to be fair, he doesn't often put his foot down, but draws the line at a twee hallway :D

  • That's what happened with the flowery plates, he well and truly put his foot down over them, so I ordered some to be my Fancy Cake Plates then went and bought boring plates from Tesco ... and now he likes the Fancy Cake Plates because 'you can tell they're good quality' *big rolly eyes*

I'm not a massive fan of CK - she's too everywhere - but if it's these tiles you're talking about I think they're perfectly acceptable! Quirky, yet sophisticated!

Oh NIMs cousin booked her wedding for a few days after ours AFTER we'd sent out save the dates, meaning about 15 of his family aren't coming as they're all going to that wedding. So while it's annoying, that cut about £1000 off our food and drink costs. Plus fewer people are coming to the evening do than expected (many of NIMs work are unusual people, who refuse to leave the TS postcode, one even refuses to leave Billingham for any reason, won't even go 5 miles up the road to Boro) The rest of the lack of shortfall comes from me cutting bits from the budget, selling the car has covered a few bits and pieces, and then I've hit ebay very hard to make money the last few months so thats helped too.

I have to try one cake to check how they're doing and if they make the grade, but I just do an extra 20mins on the cross trainer to try to balance it out :D

Lol, you're so virtuous! How many cupcakes are you planning for the tower? I made the Hummingbird red velvets the other day - they were so simple, but beautiful!

Yes yes, it was exactly those ones I was looking at! That's what I thought... Silly boys :D

Going to make about 150 total, but probably only have a tower of about half that, and just keep restocking as they go down.

Vitrue has nothing to do with it, one of my work colleagues got married a few months ago, and everyone in the office was looking at the photos and one of the ladies said ' wow, you'd have thought she'd do something about those flabby arms'! I do not want to be the second flabby arm girl!

OMG I didn't know CK did flooring! I just showed the spotty tiles to OH and he doesn't like them :( Silly boys! Is that £39.95 per tile? Jeez Louise!!!

I'm so bored, I went home at 11am on Monday because I didn't feel well and I've not gone back yet, I don't really know what's wrong with me apart from the fact that I feel sick, headachey, dizzy and I've got no energy so I'm just lying around all day. I tried to go back to work this morning because I couldn't stand just lying around again but OH told me off and made me stay home! He was right to be fair, I gave the bathroom a quick clean and had to rest for about 30 minutes afterwards because it had worn me out!

Good point about not wanting to be a flabby-armed bride Dinah. I am now panicking about my bingo wings! I really don't want any back flab either... I must get toned up!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
