You were planning to start a bookkeeping course from September weren't you Cinny? Is that still going ahead?

I think so long as NIM is smiling and enjoying it I'll be able to relax a little. It sounds so daft, and in no way a slight on anyone who has a strapless dress - but I felt so naked and exposed in mine, now I've seen it with the straps on I feel so much better about it.

Ordered the teeth strips, hope they arrive quickly!

Poddle- I'd love that as a Hen Do! If you did that I'd be there like a shot! I'd want to go as Belle too, I love her! When I was little I remember wanting to dress as Belle for a dress up day at school... I was gutted when my Mum presented me with a blue dress to look like Belle from the start of the film (complete with wicker basket!) rather than 'the' gold dress!

Bummer about the work hours being cut Cinny, any idea how long for? You'll have to find even more free things to do... but it's difficult isn't it, everything ends up costing something!

I think it'll just be for a couple months, we're on a slow patch as most jobs are contracted out and with all the schools closed, no little jobs from them. We'll be fine again come October I'm sure. We'll open at 9 now, instead of me getting there at 7 so.. I'll get to sleep in! :D

That course is still an option, but in all fairness I haven't thought of it at all with all the different stuff going on. I'll get it all sorted though, courses and budgets wise. I always seem to!

ETA: Whoops! Forgot to say, hope the strips turn up soon. If I were you I'd take a photo of your teeth before you start to kind of compair, after 3 days you're meant to see results and I had to put a photo of day 0 next to day 3 to make me go 'blimey!!' Just never use them too soon after brushing your teeth, so painful for me!

    Hi all,

Love the shoes Dinah, they are really nice. Good idea to have two pairs as well. I agree with the others about doing something to relax you as you are spending a lot of money for the day and need to enjoy it.

Poddle - I love Belle, Beauty and The Beast has to be my fave Disney film!

Cinny - I agree with the sister thing. I also think OH has majorly benefited from having four sisters as he would never hurt a woman. Sorry to hear about the hours Cinny, hopeit doesn't last too long.

I just went to the gym to get a programme sorted and got to try out the power plates. Was really fun but weird how it vibrates so much. I feel worked out now anyway!

I feel really bad for our thread when it goes a day without posts! It's like the guilt you feel when you're 5 and forget to feed your goldfish :(

But I'll post a little money news! Was at OHs last night and we decided it's most likely best if I start acting like I'm on the lower wage now, gives me chance to put a little away in my current account each week as a little cushion for things like haircuts, or [STRIKE]shoes[/STRIKE] if I need a little more petrol one week.. *ahem* So it starts today, managed to put £45 to one side this week. Quite looking forward to having my hours cut now I've had a good talk with OH over it. He told me to think of sleeping in, and early finishes. Going to have a look at my savings targets today though, really need to adjust them. Fun!

Wendz - Ahh, don't mention the gym! I've been saying I'm going to start exercising more for ages.. those plate things do look fun though! I'm waiting for someone to invent an intense exercise, that isn't even like exercise but more sitting around watching SATC? And doesn't leave you in pain. Then I'll start exercising!

Hehe... don't get the wrong impression, I'm not an attention grabbing loony but I don't mind people paying me attention if that makes sense? I've gotten a lot more confident since being with OH and now I don't really care if people look at me, as long as they're not pointing and laughing!

Hehe Birdie, so I was thinking you'll actually get *three* weddings! At the registry office, on a beautiful white beach and then a party back home?! Good skills :D

This day next year will be my wedding day - quite exciting!

That sounds like a good idea Cinny on the saving front. Haha my exercise dream is sitting around watching SATC too!

I'd love to try that! Is it v hard work or do the plates do most of the work for you? (she said hopefully :D)

Sounds v sensible, Cinny. Do you know how long your hours will be cut for? You're no stranger to budgeting, so your OH is right, you should make the most of it! I know most people would love to work less than full-time, it gets very tedious *sigh* :p

Ah, that's really exciting! It will fly by! It seems like no time ago since NIM proposed to Dinah and now they're less than a month to go :j

    Yep, I can't wait- 3 days all about meeeeeeeee!!!!! :j ;)

How exciting that you'll be getting married in exactly one year! Have you got any further with your planning?

I used to go on a Powerplate ( back when I could afford the hefty gym fees!) and I really liked it. Makes your teeth chatter a bit though, odd! Poddle, you just have to hold a pose and get shaken for 30 seconds... not too difficult but those 30 seconds feel like ages sometimes!

Very sensible money plan Cinny and it's good that it should only be until autumn. Rubbish schools taking summer holidays!

Thats exciting Lara! Really chuffed for you.

Since I've started the physio I've gotten a bit hooked on exercise. If I go a day without doing my hour on the cross trainer and some weights I get a bit fidgetty and don't sleep well. I'm really loving pushing myself and my general fitness is so much better, no way could I have run for an hour this time last year!

Went to physio again this morning, now have an exercise plan so I can go in on my own every day to keep working on it. With only 4 weeks to go my priorities are on the knee rather than all the flowers and stuff that my mum can focus on! Going back to the venue on Wednesday to talk in more detail. Got the order of service through from the vicar and there are so many mistakes in it its untrue! Never mind, it'll all get sorted in the end. The house is finally progressing a little, the front bedrooms are undercoated, real paint will be applied after the stag do this weekend.

That's great news about the knee Dinah. And you're going to be Mrs NIM in 4 weeks, gosh that's sooo cool. I think you're better off not worrying about the last minute details, it's too easy to get sucked in, and everything will turn out right on the day.

We haven't done anything more on the wedding. OH was supposed to do the save the dates last weekend but didn't. I thought he was slacking but I think I am actually being over-zealous. I am excited and scared about today because my fieldwork for my PhD in Kampala is coming up so fast. This is the biggest challenge I have ever had, and I am going to be all alone and away from home from October - May, with trips home in December and March. In just 1 year it's all going to be finished and I will be out the other side, whatever happens, getting married yay! It's all down to me (a both terrifying and very exciting thought)
