Very sensible advice there about the suite and tiles Cinny! The house will be coming on in leaps and bounds soon, how exciting! It's true that they always cost more than you budget, anyone who's seen Grand Designs can tell you that!
My manager had her baby on Saturday morning, a little boy. I went and bought some presents for him and they're sooooo cute I went all gooey and OH told me off! But how can you not get gooey over tiny sleepsuits and mittens and aeroplane spoons?! I think I must be getting more mothery as I was looking for baby clothes and picked up a really cute polo shirt but it was just a tiny t-shirt and was quite a rough fabric and I'm muttering, 'How can they get that on a baby with no poppers on the shoulder? I wouldn't want to squish him in there the poor bairn... and that's not a very comfy fabric...and there's no way I'll buy him the jeans to match, they're definitely too rough!' What's happening to me?! Looking forward to going to see them but I don't want to intrude as I imagine they'll be overrun with visitors right now, will have to find out when is good time to pop round and have a cuddle!

It must mean something; a few years ago I'd have just said, 'Ooooh cute, I'll get them!' without even thinking about the practicalities!
I'm still a bit scared of babies though, I hold them like I'd hold a dirty football! Wonder it that's changed at all! :rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

You will be fine once you have your own. It all comes naturally then so I wouldn't worry about it before then! I was never quite sure how to hold a baby before having one!!!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I can hold a floppy baby OK... I'm just really wary of them because they can cover you in sick at any moment and I don't like that so I never really get comfortable with them! I should just man up and accept that I may get spewed on and go with it!

Hello, lots of exciting things going and nice Monday morning chat!
Yay that your bathroom has arrived Dinah! Keep cracking the whip, sounds like things are happening quickly. Our builders started our bathroom last Thursday, so it's day 5 and it still looks like a cave with a toilet in it. Luckily, the novelty of bathing in our kitchen sink hasn't quite worn off. Why oh why didn't I make them start on a Monday?!
Lol, you sound SO broody, Birdie! Glad your wedding dress fits perfectly, that must be super exciting!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

I am but shhhhh OH isn't to know! :rotfl:
I am excited and happy that the dress fits; I had a bit of a wobble when I first put it on because I'm so conscious of my out of proportion hips and I was like, 'Oh my god my hips are MASSIVE!' when I first put it on but my Mum talked me down off the ledge and convinced me that I looked shapely rather than big! It's a bit late to change my mind now anyway! I know I'm just being silly though and the more I had it on the better I felt so it's all good!

Sorry I've not been around for a while! Getting the house together sounds exciting Dinah, not so much if it's over budget though :eek:ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0

Oh see I knew I shouldn't have got excited
The agents have just called OH to say they have two other applications on the house and where was ours? In fairness we only received the forms on Saturday, so he's going to take them down himself today rather than post them. I think the landlord liked us but if it's us or another couple with no cats I have an idea who he'd choose. I can't believe I was so optimistic about it this morning!
