I've been thinking about my shortfall, I think I might (if I have time) make a few more veils (shorter ones than mine!) with the spare lace and netting I have, stick them up on Etsy, see if there are any takers. Nice way to use my skills, and use up stuff I already have lying about. Need to list all our second hand stuff, old clothes etc, on Ebay first though.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Done the sums to one years time, as you need to order the vouchers, and get them in the mailing, so realistically the last mailing that would count would be the May one, as August wouldn't give enough time to order the vouchers and book the holiday. So you'd be looking at around £195 of points from your normal shopping assuming the double points does indeed come to an end at the end of August 2010. If it doesn't you should be about bang on target. You could make up the shortfall by doing a few of the bonus points offers, I try to post good ones on this thread when I see them, £155 of points in bonus offers is suprisingly easy to do!
Wow - that is great. I better start shopping in Tesco instead of Sainsbury's then! Their reward system is rubbish.
I will look out for the bonus points offers as well!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I think that all sounds lovely Lulu!
I was going to say, that sounds pretty nice to me! Facemasks and nail painting is what I do on most of my afternoon offs!Anyone have any nice plans for the weekend?
Not much! Watching the match with OH - either at mine if the weather's rubbish or we'll find a pub if it's sunny - and a takeaway for tea. I think that's the highlight! The house costs are about double what we estimated, so at the moment its looking like we might come back off honeymoon with around £6500 debt
Sorry to hear about the shortfall Dinah, I was going to say the same as Birdie, so I won't just repeat her! But if you're okay having the debt, then it shouldn't be too bad. Sounds like you'll be able to make a bit of it up quite easily.0 -

We've made the decision to effectively knock the floors on the head. If we have no flooring in our lounge, bedroom, guest bedroom for 6 months then so be it. But this gives us a lot more wiggle room in the budget. We technically now have no shortfall. However, we kind of still do. This is because we went yesterday to see the guy who made our wedding rings. I don't like mine, its too thin, looks like a toy. To get it made 1mm thicker (yes, mm, not cm), its £330. Which we can't really afford. Hence the soul searching and the decision to put the floors on the back burner. Last summer mum said she very nearly bought some solid oak wood flooring at homebase in the summer sale as it was reduced from £24.99 to £4.99 - if we see an offer like this we'll be getting the floors - but about £15m is the max we can afford now.
Went to ikea yesterday. Got some bits for the house (things like we had basics like a grater on our wedding list - ikea price £2, wedding list price £16 - which is mental!), and some everyday china (again, ikea set £14, the cheapest HoF set was £60!), but we also got the frames to make the things Cinny suggested (love you!), but that is likely to be a project for the next couple of weeks rather than this week. We also got a giant bowl and some floating candles. The idea being to see if we like the look of it as a centerpiece for the wedding. While we love the champagne glasses its going to cost about £40 a centerpiece, if we can cut that down to £15 or £20 then I think we'll do that, won't look as wow but we'll be less in debt and thats more important I think. We'll just have to see how the bowl thing goes (will post piccies) and if the place with the champagne glasses does a summer sale.
Went to the house yesterday. The pond we took out a couple of weeks ago has started to reform itself! So next time there is a rain free weekend NIM needs to set about digging up the liner (I couldn't do that bit as its not knee friendly!)
This week I am going to try to do 20 ebay things a day. After that I can do other things off the list, but its the misery that is ebay that I always find hardest to do.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

:eek:Wow thats alot for such a tiny little bit! I think you are making the right decision though, it would be awful if you truely hated your wedding ring.
Good luck with the ebaying, im suprised you have anything left to sell :rotfl:
Im quite please as i have listed four things on ebay over the last week and have already made £55, one of them has just over a day left and is already at £30 and has 21 watchers.
We got our council tax bill and water bill through and seems i overetimated what they would be by quite a lot so very happy about that aswellBiggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

If it helps any, I kind of prefer simple bowls to the idea of towers. (But I speak as a very clumsy person and just me sitting near one would cause it to fall down) Like this. Lovely!
You'll have to post photos of the frames when you get them done, would love to see how they turn out!
Hope everyone's having a nice weekend. OH is at work today so I'm going to blitz my room and sort out all my beauty boxes. Something that always scares me! *buries head*0 -

I'd say MAC if you have vouchers for a department store like Debs or HOF, or if you have Love2Shop I'd go to Superdrug and get some Sleek Palettes, they're cheap (£5.99 for a palette of 12 eyeshadows) but amazingly pigmented and really velvety (I have 2 palettes and love them!)0
