I've got a friend coming over next week, she grows all their family fruit and veg, has a veggie plot bigger than my garden! No greenhouse though, hence why I assumed I wouldn't need one. Mum used to grow tomatoes on our patio too *missing confused smiley* Never tried berries though. Greenhouse sold for £90, and the potting shed for £46. As i say, if I need one I can get a small one for about £40, but there is no point having a 9ft square one that covers the whole plot.

Really chuffed with all the sales last night, made £290 in total. Which is fab, almost everyone is paying in cash over the weekend. Thats enough to cover all the paint for the house (need another mega tub of white, a lot of gloss, and then the colours for the hall, kitchen, lounge, conservatory and study) and then the roll of lining paper and wallpaper for a feature wall in the guest room.

Have a lemon tart, chocolate chip cookies and a picnic pie to make today. Looks like we're going to get maybe 5-8 people so will have a lot of food left for the freezer, and a lot of booze left over. But my brother might be getting all his cycling mates around on Sunday which is 6 or 7 very fit lads, be more likely to set them on breaking concrete and digging up dead plants than delicate things like scrapping paper.

What's a picnic pie when it's at home?

Well done on the sales, that's great as it's 'free' stuff you're selling anyway! The decorating party will go well I'm sure, all the leftover can be used for another party! That's good of your brother to 'volunteer' his mates too, I have a feeling that there won't be much beer left over on Sunday though!

Bit of excitement here this morning, Morrison's in town has been robbed! Someone stole a JCB from a nearby field, drove it to Morrison's, pulled down the wall where the cash machine is and nicked it! OH has been down for a nosy and took some pictures for me but said there were no media bods there so I phoned Look North and told them about it, how fun! Birdie the Roving Reporter!

Picnic pie is basically a VERY solid pie you can take on picnics and walks without worrying about it falling apart. Mine has layers of sausagemeat and thyme, ham, eggs, and soaked bread. You can also put in veggies and the like but NIM is very anti vegetables in pies!

Lolwell done on your media spot!

Hmmmm sounds interesting but nice! I'd agree about the no veggies, especially if it's eaten cold! Cold veg in a pie? Blegh!

You sound so excited!! I'll make sure to watch Look North tonight just incase they mention it! I remember I got really excited last year when the Church on my road was on the Look North.. admittedly it was because some kids torched the place but I was like 'Oooh, I saw that!'

I'm sure that even if 5-8 people do show up like you think, that'll be plenty for a little bit of DIY! And all the meat-y stuff you've got can be freezed but with this weather I'd be wanting a BBQ every night :D But I'm greedy like that!

Insane amount of work got done! All walls are now stripped except the lounge (which we can't strip yet as its full of storage stuff). So NIM is moving all the storage stuff into the roof space today so my brothers cycling mates who are coming this afternoon can descend on the lounge like locusts. Both the greenhouse and the potting shed have gone, leaving just the concrete to be broken up by my brothers mates (who are coming this afternoon, why is it raining?!) and a LOT of really deep roots to dig up. Was really nice having people over, and a real laugh too, don't think I've seen my brother laugh that much in ages. I'll take some updated photos if I go over later on, it looks so different now. I woke up with a massive migrane, so NIM has gone without me today, I may go over later or I may just accept the migrane and go back to bed. Still no quote from our builder friend, so we're calling a few other blokes, as we really need to get moving on this and while hes a nice guy, we can't wait a couple of months for things to get going.
