I thought I was nice buying OH a 4-pack of Branston Beans and some cheap Mariners pies!

:rotfl::rotfl:That would definitely impress my OH - and it has to be Branston not Heinz, apparently he can taste the difference but im not entirely convinced.

I can taste the difference but the other way - it has to be Heinz! Pies freeze great too - make a really big one, chop it into slices, wrap and freeze them. Another thing I like to send for his lunch! Wack a piece of cake, cupcake or flapjack in too and some fruit, voila, easy and cheap packed lunch.

Apparently Heinz have too much sauce :o i wouldnt know.

Im so glad i dont have to sort OH a lunch out everyday - he gets 3 free meals a week anyway as part of his perks of being a manager, and when he does have to pay he still gets a huge discount so pays about £2 :D

Good tips... now if only I could actually be bothered to do some batch cooking!

I used to be all about Heinz but OH has converted me to Branston!

I don't really have any tips for London Tink, my Mum just booked through Superbreak. My friends go most years and they said that the best place they stayed was in some student halls in summer when there was no-one living in them. Really super cheap, clean and they got a 'continental' breakfast in the morning!

Aye thats not much at all. Any time NIM has forgotten his lunch it always runs us to about £5 or more sometimes - thats insane money to throw away on what tends to be crap every day!

You're going to be superwife! Why do boys love pies? I always deprive my OH as they're not a healthy option, but freezing slices sounds great - it will keep him away from the Ginsters!

I always thought beans had to be Heinz but I reckon they've gone downhill - the last ones I had were really 'non'! This food chat has made me really hungry - lunch time I think!

We have a cheap canteen, a full meal with veg is only £2.40 so that's a good stand-by although I never bring more than £1 to work so I'm not tempted! Although it is roast dinner day today...mmmmm. OH is bringing my lunch today in as he's lovely and looks after me! :)

Ah the pies is really sneaky, I hate them too - NIM loves them, so by giving him them for lunch I don't have to put up with them and he thinks I'm great because he gets a big wedge of pie!
