True, but your sneeky ways will be discovered.
He knows already that I pie up at lunchtime to avoid pies at home. That said we like quite different food, I can see me doing him pies or dumplings etc on an evening and me a salad or mexican a couple of nights a week.Dinah! I've just been mooching around on the wedding thread and saw this idea, it's a tree where you get your guests to stamp and sign their thumb print- you ask them to 'leaf' their mark!
Since you're arty, you might be able to do something like this? Might have to find an arty friend who could help me draw a tree like this on canvas to use at our reception!
If you provide the canvas and paint I'll happily be your arty friend! We're already planning a memory tree type idea, basically getting a tree in a nice pot, and asking people to hang tags off it with their memories of the day that we can stick in a scrapbook later. That's a nice unusual idea! ha ha, 'leaf' your mark
Has anyone read the moral dilemma from the email? I have mixed feelings about the subject: i do get OP's point, but he seems like a bit of a git tbh! I wouldn't move in with him!
I definately think they should split the bills, in all honesty I wouldn't feel comfortable living off of him if I knew it bothered him, I think they'd be best renting out his existing house then renting or buying together in the area they are moving to, to put them on a level footing. They clearly have a split in the fiances rather than any joint money at all, which I do think causes an issue when it comes down to such a level that the two parties see things so differently that it causes tension in the relationship.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Ooooh, thanks for the offer Dinah! I'll be in touch!
Just have to make sure OH likes the idea too! Do you think normal crafty ink pads will work OK on the canvas for the thumb prints?

My only concern would be that the rough grain of the canvas might distort them a little - but I have canvas and paint and ink pads, so I can always check it out for you and send a piccie. I've got a slightly knackered canvas already, so I can practice on it for you.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Oh yeah, they should definitely split the bills - it's just the fact that there's no mortgage to pay and he would be profiting and she would be ploughing her money into 'rent' and have nothing to show for it. I agree with all the suggestions (like yours) that they should buy somewhere together or keep some sort of fund - he just doesn't come across very well!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

I am sure you will swing him into your way on thinking with your womenly way.
NIM - Womenly way can be bad and good. Becareful as they can have you agreeing to anything! Seriously anything!0 -
well Birdie, the whole motivating you and in turn motivating me hasn't happened! I've only written one reveiw today and have no idea what to write on next grr!!
side note - does anyone have any clues on ciao? I requested £5.04 ages ago (on the 8th of march) and I still haven't seen it! Any idea how long I'm meant to wait?!0 -
Hi all I like to make leek and spud. It is really hearty and filling. I tend to use a masher rather than a blender, a I like it with a bit of texture. I usually blend some up for the baby and batch freeze that, she loves it.
Talking about my little pink person, she has been in hospital. They still not to sure why but she has had sickness and a high temp. They have done some tests but the results are not back yet. We were all a bit worried but she is starting to act like her smiley little self.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

Aww ROTE hope she feels better soon, she's in the best place (It's Amber isn't it? There are so many babies flying about on these forums!)
Love that tree idea, something that you can hang on the wall and see every day rather than put away in a cupboard like a guest book.
I only looked at the summary of the dilemma but I definitely dont think she should pay him rent, what if they break up, she'll be left homeless, with no claim to the house that she's been paying into for however long? Split the bills obviously or like Dinah says, rent somewhere if he's that bothered about her 'profiting' from him. It's worrying though because if I was in his position and was at the stage in a relationship where we want to live together that wouldn't even cross my mind.
Right, back to the grind, it's been a busy week this - was supposed to be my quiet, chance-to-catch-up week but hasn't happened that way at allWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0
