I am in Reading and the weather is very severe. None of my neighbours have been able to get into work. I work from home so am okay. My OH couldn't make it in either. He is working from home though.
Mrs Poolie is 5/10 minutes walk to work. She doesn't have access to work from home. I usually work from office but can work from home when like today - which is my plan.0 -
Yay for the savings!
I love the last one for you, just what I can imagine you wearing. I love the first one for me! I might have to check that one out!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Well done on the savings. At this rate you have the money saved by May0

I really hope we manage it, managing it early would be amazing. If I could go on honeymoon knowing we'd paid cash for everything, and had no debts, I'd be chuffed. If I went away knowing we'd already got some savings towards Japan, I'd be exstatic.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Poolie that's harsh on Mrs Poolie - where I work everyone gets sent home, and if we don't and you want to go early then it comes out of your flexi which is pretty fair I think.
Dinah I LOVE the first one, quite unusual but still really beautiful. Next best is the third and I wasn't keen on the middle but I think that might just bee the sleevey things putting me off! Well done on the wedding savingsWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Problem is that Mrs Poolie doesn't get Flexi so she can't really come home early. So those that are at home and I think should be made to pay back the time then would have to work late or work a weekend day without extra pay0 -
Or take it as leave - I agree - this weather is far too open to abuse with people maybe spinning the wheels for half a second then claiming they can't get their car off the drive. My OH's boss has a 4x4 and always offers to go and collect people if they try that one - somehow they manage to make it in in the end!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

If people knew how to drive properly in the snow then they should not be spinning their wheels in the first place.
People learn to drive but don't know how to drive to the weather conditions.0 -

To be honest, as a manager I would expect her to come in today as a 5-10 minute walk isn't bad. It wasn't fair the way one manager said one thing and the other said something different though.
When I lived in Edinburgh there were plenty of days when I could make it in (lived in the city) & my work colleagues were stranded (lived outside the city). I wouldn't have expected them to work the time back as if you can't get out you can't get out!
I know some people might abuse it but I think the majority wouldn't. I work in the social care sector though, so I would feel guilty if I was taking the p*** and could really get in for work.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I have a feeling you will manage it, with savings towards Japan as well!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
