Hello all! It is quiet today! I've been looking at wedding invites on Etsy, I wish I hadn't as I've mentally spent a fortune! I want boarding pass style cards for save the dates and passport style info-invites. I downloaded templates to make them myself but have no idea what to do! I think I'll just have to suck it up and pay to get them made as I'll never make them look as good as they do if I make them myself, but it's a shame!

Ooh those save the date and invites holiday style are fab! I'd be excited getting something like that through my letterbox. Meant to ask, is the save the date (had that abbreviated but didn't look too good, lol) cards an English thing as I've never heard of them up here in Scotchland! Have asked around and been met with blank stares!

Do you think everyone's... working?!

Birdie I love your idea for invites - they look fab! I wouldn't know where to start with making them either...

Sounds like you're cracking on with the moneymaking Lulu, good luck!

Hi Wendz, I've got fairly quiet weekend planned which is nice - off out for Thai tomorrow night for a friend's birthday, but other than that it's DIY and a nice walk along the seafront if the rain stays away. God, I'm old! :D

I have had a save the date before, is a good idea to get teh date in your diary. Maybe it is an English thing! Not everyone does it though.

My weekend is equally rock and roll, am going for tea and cakes at my very pregnant friends house and going to a 3 year olds birthday party haha.

Good Lord no, it's more likely that everyone's been hit by a bus! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Swinstie, I think Save The Dates (I know what you mean about the abbreviation, I kept seeing it last night and was a little shocked by all the STD chat on wedding forums!) is an American thing that, like everything else money wasting has made its way here. The first one I saw was a few years ago when my Mum's friend's son sent us one as he was getting married in New York, I assumed they were for weddings that required a lot of planning to get to but now lots of people send them even if they're getting married down the road from where they live! My friend is sending them out and she's getting married on a Saturday in the town where we live so she doesn't really need to but she's sending them anyway! I'm only thinking about sending them because I like the boarding passes and the passports and I don't want to choose between them! ;)

ETA: My weekend plans are as crazy as everyone elses! My brother's coming for dinner tonight and I plan on going out and spending as little as possible over the weekend! My friend has asked me to go to hers to play Just dance tomorrow and go out afterwards but I'm trying to convince her that it's way cooler to just stay in all night then have an early night! I'm not sure she's happy with me!

Well, it looks like our offer has been accepted. However they won't withdraw it from sale until we have an agreement in principle to show them. I really need NIMs dad to get a move on and get back to Ireland!

Birdie those Save The Date cards are so cute! I think the prefer the boarding pass ones, but then again the passports ones are more like invites...Which ones you going to pick?

I prefer the passport ones tbh! I've seen the boarding card ones before, the passport ones contain more info and they're really cute.
