Hi EE, now have you done your parking ticket appeal? We procrastinators will have to keep an eye on each other. I am now procrastinating as I am meant to be doing some freelance writing and organising a green party meeting.... I'd better get off MSE!

  • Well it's been a week since I posted.

DH and I are muddling through. I resorted to the bed on Friday night, I was shattered from sleeping on the sofa and nearly didn't make it through a day's work on Friday.

I have told him that we are not a married couple and instead we can be FB's :rotfl:for now.

I so don't want to go back to how we were, what if he is just taking the pi$$ out of me and then I will feel like a right mug??

DH has realised he is up the creek without a paddle when most of his DD's bounced this month. He wanted to borrow some money from me but I only had enough to pay for a stag weekend for him (was my first priority as it is my best friend getting married).

He spoke to one of them and has to pay two months when he gets paid. He did realise that he is playing catch up all the time because next month he will have more to pay out.

Anyway the upshot of the above is that he has been to see about selling his car to a garage and they have offered him £7,000 which is about right although 2 years ago we paid £10,000 when it was 1 year old but new price was £15,999 so we got a good deal.

We have had a minor chat about it because I told him it was his decision, I think he is going to sell it this week although he did say yesterday about buying a new TV so we are HD ready . I told him to just try it and see what happens :rotfl:

I have managed to sort out my car insurance, didn't go through Quidco because the cheapest were not on there.
Sheila's Wheels told me that all their prices have gone up this time - I thought it has probably got something to do with offering £60 cash back on Quidco :rotfl:
I have now gone with Direct Line and their price for paying over the year is less that the initial quote from SW excluding interest charge.

Have paid the deposit and the monthly payment has dropped by a few pounds as well.

Still need to check my account to see what happened last month with my money. I must sort my passport out - hope to do this this week.

Did the school shoe run yesterday so I am £110 lighter  (that is even with a 10% discount)
The problem is when my DS goes up a shoe size we have to replace school shoes, school trainers, drama shoes and home shoes - we are going back for his home shoes next month as have a voucher for 20% off.
DD also needed new shoes so it all adds up.

Have most of the other school stuff, DS has enough stationary to last him until he is 50 :rotfl:. Just need to get some more socks and some polo shirts for DS.

DD can't wait to go to school next week, bless her. I am also counting down as I want to get on with some mystery shopping - of which there is loads in my area.

  • Well most important thing first

Remember I applied for the Catering Assistant job back in June, well the manager rung me today and I have an interview on Monday.:j

She is fully aware I can only help on 3 days of the week which she said was fine as Thursdays is the busiest day.

Also I am central to all the catering areas in my county so if she does not have work for me the others might which means there is a potential 200+ schools I could cover :T

Even if I only work a couple of times a month it will bring in some much needed extra cash.

I'm hoping it is just a chat and going in my normal interview clothes will be fine, I don't want to have to peel veg/clean etc in my black trousers and high heels :rotfl:

Have checked all my balances on surveys, last time I did them was 30th May and this is going to be my final check before I cull any.

    Yougov – [STRIKE]4585[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]710[/STRIKE] 1360
    Pure Profile - [STRIKE]£18.20 £18.45[/STRIKE] £24.65
    Lightspeed – [STRIKE]2475 905[/STRIKE] 30 - just redeemed £15
    Global Test – [STRIKE]76 301[/STRIKE] 681
    Valued Opinions –[STRIKE] £5.75 £8.75[/STRIKE] £1.00 - just claimed £10 Amazon voucher
    Opinion Bar - [STRIKE]£7.38 £7.60[/STRIKE] £1.55 - just claimed £11.55
    Harris Poll – [STRIKE]460 910[/STRIKE] 1600
    One Poll - [STRIKE]£4.05 £5.20[/STRIKE] £6.05
    Ipoints(Maximiles) – [STRIKE]1280 1865[/STRIKE] 2578
    Rewarded Opinions – [STRIKE]995 1675[/STRIKE] 0 - just redeemed £22.75
    MyVoice - [STRIKE]545 700[/STRIKE] 960
    Hi-Epanel - [STRIKE]57[/STRIKE] 73 points

Well the ones I have redeemed should show in my Paypal within the next few weeks so I can then pay them off the Paypal c/c.

The only one which isn't going well is OnePoll, payout is at £40.00 so I have a way to go yet so not sure whether to just walk away. I really need to log in more often as they don't email when surveys are available.

DS & DD are also doing Youngpoll and payout is at £20 so much better although DS has lost his login and although I have requested it I did not get a reply. I must try to ring them next week.

Great news on the interview!! Well done and good luck!

Commiserations on the surveys. They are so boring, aren't they? I'm only about £3 from payout on Onepoll and definitely not starting that again once I've got paid, as it has taken me years to get that far, and a big chunk of it was referral credits when my four children signed up.

Commiserations also on the school shoes.

Hope things are going OK with OH?

  • Hi Seaxwyn

Luckily the cost of the shoes was offset somewhat by the fact that the other things we needed, PE Shorts and Polo Tops were reduced so got them all for a bargain price.

Things with DH are much the same, we are just FB's at the moment although we are sharing the same bed but only because I slept really badly when I was on the sofa.

I see things are going ok for you, shame the payrise was not a lot more.

  • I have been doing Flylady today and the house is looking much better, I need to do the bedrooms over the weekend.

I also need to sort myself out for my day's off so I don't just sit on here all day.

The above us quite ironic because back in June I said exactly the same thing on this diary - clearly nothing improved then :rotfl:

Once the kids are back to school I will be able to sort things.

I also have a mystery shop to do on Saturday and Monday so that is a few extra pennies coming my way.

    EE
  • Well I was all set for children to go back to school on Monday, sis-in-law had to take them as DH and I had a dentist appt only when we got there it was not til Thursday :rotfl:

We are NHS patients so hopefully should be £16.50 each for check ups although it is likely DH will need work doing which will cost more although he won't have that done at the same time as he has a phobia of dentists and has passed out before:rotfl:

I will have to pay for the dentist as DH has run out of money already and has not paid some of his c/c's. His car is for sale but we went back to the garage that offered him some money but they have turned him down. DH was on a proper downer at the weekend but hopefully he will realise that he can't continue like that.

I paid for his car to go on Autotrader as he couldn't afford it and then remembered that he had ordered loads of stuff of ebay - he says it came out of his bank account but I expect it came off one of his c/c's. I was well narked but by then it was too late.

I had a job interview on Monday for a Catering Assistant in schools, I got the job and just have to wait for my CRB check to be done. :j:jThis is only relief but if I get 1 job a fortnight it will be some extra money.

I need to set myself a challenge and be more positive about life - can you tell I have been on Memorygirls' thread :rotfl: so I am going to set myself a challenge with my Paypal card - be back soon.

    EE
  • Right my challenge is to clear my Paypal credit card by Dec as I will turn 30 :D

The balance is £370.23 so I reckon if I pay £123.42 in extra payments (not including minimum payment & interest) each month it will be cleared by then.

So I will see if I can do this - I just checked my bank account and £11.55 from OpinionWorld was showing so I have transferred this to Paypal.

    Balance to pay by 1/10 = £111.87 :)

Now going to check my empty ink cartridges and get them sent off - I was supposed to do this last month but never got round to it.

Now I have a challenge I have to pass it :T
  • Just rung CSA, I sent them a letter in June querying the assessment but had not heard anything. I knew they were behind with pwk but thought I would ring to check it has been received.

Well it has been received but has been passed to the Accounts Team who have nothing with it because of course it should have gone to the Assessment Team

Clearly my first line of the letter was not enough, it read ' I would like to ask for a reassessment of my CSA as I believe it is incorrect' - Yup defintely confusing :rotfl:

So I have to fax them the letter but of course I am not at work for a few days!! Grrr but he did say that any reassessment would be backdated to June when my letter was received.

I'm actually hoping they will take it back to October when the assessment was done as it is an official error although of course I should have chased that before now - that is procrastination for you :rotfl:
