  • Was going to come on here for a general moan and now I need to have a big proper moan!!

My initial moan was going to be about life in general and how when the household account is short I end up propping it up and if the shopping money runs out I top that up as well even though I have the lowest income of all of us

Still need to do budget for household and my own and then might need to call a family meeting :(

Also I have some housing issues which are all of my own making so I need to sort this asap as it is always on my mind and I am getting stressed - can't go in to too much detail at the moment - Sorry!!

My big moan is about my car - it started playing up the other night so instead of bringing it home I left it at the garage and then went in the next day to talk to them (happened at night).
The garage have looked at it and the damage is £900+

Obviously I have told them to go ahead because my car is worth more than that, the only sticking point is how I will pay for it. I have decided not to get stressed about it and try my hardest to make some extra money so last night I rung one of the mystery shopping companies and have done 4 jobs total worth £98 so that is a start.

DH has said that he can put it on his just paid off credit card and I can pay it back gradually - obviously I am not keen on this but needs must.

Will hopefully be back later with my updated balances.

  • Balances as per statements:

    Barclaycard - £7623.82
    Amazon - £2273.10
    Abbey - £747.68
    Paypal - £283.32

    Total - £10927.92

    Reduction - £116.80 :T

I have adjusted the Barclaycard debt, I did not make a payment so my balance had gone up but I have made it now so I am treating it as though I paid it on time otherwise it skews the figures.

I'm wondering whether I could get it down under £10,000 by my 30th!!! This is in 2 months so not sure if it is feasable but with my new found positivity I can do this.

On top of finding the £900+ to get me under £10,000 I also need to find £900+ to pay for my car repair.

    Best think of some ideas?

good luck with that...it's such a nuisance the cost of car repairs but a necessary evil none the less

  • Bill for car has come in - £934 :eek:

Then I had a dream last night that my car was broken and nothing would work - hope it's not true :rotfl:

I have started working as a Catering Assistant - I did a few hours this week and have a few more for next week so the money should come in handy for paying off my credit card etc to get me below £10,000 by end of Dec.

Not much else to report at the moment. All going surprisingly good (touch wood)

  • It's been a month since I have posted and I can see my motivation slipping.

I have been very off and on with my MSE ways.

I had 3 Xmas doo's booked and I cancelled one because I could not afford the rest of the money - I had paid a £20 deposit but the extra would have been another £60 which I couldn't justify.

DH paid for his work doo so that is fine and I have paid for mine.

This is the first year that I have cut back and I feel ok about people knowing I am skint!!

I will be wearing a dress I already have but just getting new accessories - total cost £10. I did have to get a shrug but I had a Debenhams gift card so used that.

The un-MSE bit is that I have purchased bikes for Xmas - the original aim was to spend £100 each but as you can guess we have spent £835  on 4 bikes.
They are good quality and should last ...but.... clearly I can't afford it so why did I do it.

I hope we make very good use of them :rotfl:

DH thinks the children should still have lots for Xmas - I disagree but we have come to a compromise that involves getting the children what they want but at lower prcies etc so DH still feels like he has spent loads!!

My debts are not reducing, any extra money I make is not reducing the debt instead it is being swallowed up in general day to day living.

I will check my account later as all bills have come out for the month and I should have some extra to move across.

DH is struggling for money and asked for my help to sort himself out. I have agreed for us to sit down and sort his account out - the fact I need to sort mine is irrelevant but at least I am not incurring charges like he is.

DH also wants a puppy which my brother has - I have said no as we are in rented but he thinks we can get away with it. I am standing my ground on this one.

Turkeys are nearly ready for Xmas so hopefully this will bring in some much needed funds for the business account - oh I haven't mentioned that have I - DH opened this himself as I didn't agree with taking out credit etc - think he has been conned into paying for stuff he shouldn't but what do I know

Other than that and the fact he has ordered loads of business stationary we are going pretty well - hopefully it will last but I am always a bit suspicious when things are this good because I always expect bad things on the horizon :(

I am going to try to post every day on my diary because I think it will keep me motivated and hopefully start my PAD's again.
