    Afternoon all :)

Hope you all had a good evening last night.

Another lazy day today with not an ounce of OS in sight :o

DDs are occupied with friends and the wii, and apart from an occassional shout of 'keep the noise down', I haven't had to put my parenting skills into practice :D

Wishing you all a very happy new year, and it's back to normal tomorrow :)

    Regards

Hi everyone and happy new year. Although one of my resolutions is to spend less time online (especially on my day off) i just wanted to come on and say hi.

Well I spent last night on here!! :D:D:D OH was at work at a pub I had never been sure what to do and was going to go to bed before 12 but in the end I joined a "party" thread on here watched Take That concert and had a good night! My OH got home from busy pub at 2.30 in the morning and we stayed up till 5 - watching "who killed archie mitchell" on bbc3. So not an NYE I would ever have planned but ended up being really good.

Torn between having a quiet/chilling day today or whether to do all my weekend jobs to have a completely relaxing weekend......off to Tesco soon....just told my OH the saying about washing, he informed me we have no choice as he has work clothes to wash LOL

Hope you all have a great day x

    Afternoon all!

Welcome to 2010, and may it bring us all what we hope for and make all our dreams come true!

OS today is going to be very very minimal, it will involve a lot of washing of pots though at some point, as none have been done since this time yesterday! May take kids out for a bag of chips and a trot along the seafront to stop us vegetating all day, but to be honest, it's really rather nice to just do not much at all! We do have a wii tournament planned for later though, so I shall be fortifiying myself with a large glass of something!

My car is being collected on Monday by the garage, they were distinctly rude and unpleasant, and were really nasty about providing a courtesy car, and I have told my insurance company what I thought, as a result they told me to go and hire a car myself and they'd refund me! Being money saving as ever, I have a Matiz until Tuesday for the bargain price of #59.00! Hopefully garage will then have delivered the courtesy car, though I'm not holding out much hope!

The missing kitten is still missing, but we are still hopeful that she'll reappear, girls are going to make some posters.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves last night, whether celebrating or just relaxing at home. We went out for a meal for ds's birthday, was very nice and even dd3 said she was full at the end, something we rarely hear! Kids were really good fun and it was lovely just to be together.

Hope everyone has a lovely day, I'm going to multitask and do some catching up here whilst finishing watching James Bond on dvd! xx

    Happy new year everyone:beer:

Well we've been 'out for fresh air' as is our wont on New Year's Day. We had a short but enjoyable (despite me falling over and losing a glove) walk at a local beauty spot -not the Malvern Hills, I wasn't feeling energetic enough for them. Lots of frozen puddles for the kids to stamp on and a couple who were flying their hawk. I was glad I remembered my camera for once. He was a beautiful Harris Hawk and they let me take some close ups of him:)

We've had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for lunch with toast.

Christmas has been packed away and the front room looks very bare despite the fact that the tree was only there for two weeks.

I shall buy some fresh flowers on Monday to mark the end of the feasting season. I have some new room fragrance oil from the Body Shop -Line dried cotton it's called and it does smell exactly like line dried washing, very fresh and 'new', just the thing for the post Christmas period.

I've must get on with some breadmaking. I've just posted a link to my photographic breadmaking tutorial on the handmade bread thread if anyone's interested.

I've just realised that I'm not going to have time to get the bread done before I need the oven for baked spuds for tea. Oh well, it can wait till tomorrow I suppose. Cold ham, braised red cabbage, buttered carrots and baked spuds for supper.

    Happy New Year!

Hope 2010 is good for all x

Not much OS here today...sitting round recovering from last night, lol.

My friends little boy has got chicken pox, poor little thing, my mam had a half bottle of calamine lotion so they've got that for him until places are open properly tomorrow, kind of OS I suppose!

Lots of snow here, and it's still going. OH went out to the corner shop earlier and says nowhere has been gritted, seems best to stay in.

Haven't heard of the washing superstition before, not particularly superstitious but sounds like a good excuse for more laziness today so thank you!

*hugs* to everyone who needs/wants them.

Will be more OS in the New Year, luckily haven't got much in the way of debts to clear and should be starting a new job with half decent money soon, but it will be good to have some savings for more treats...holidays with hot tubs spring to mind!

Have a good day everyone xxx

    Good Afternoon everyone
and a Happy New Year to one and all.
I too never wash clothes on New Years day,but my scots Mum wouldn't either.Lots of her ways rubbed off on to me.
I had a great day yesterday,I went to see Snowhite and the Seven Dwarves pantomime in Maidstone with my DD and tribe then afterwards went to eldest DDs and we then drove up to visit her sis-in-law and family in London for a new years party, and we didn't get back to North Kent until gone 2.00.a.m. this afternoon I have finally got back home to my house about half an hour ago and all my too-ing and fro-ing with the family is over for another year.I popped into sainsbobs on my way home and snaffled a lovely bit of brisket reduced to £2.30 which has gone into the freezer for later on in the month.Brisket done in the SC is wonderful. I now have no need to shop for at least a week, if not more, as my cupboards and freezer are fully stocked .
Tonight I am having a bit of steak for dinner with salad and jacket potato followed by banana custard to use up the bananas.
I love Christmas and Hogmanay but I also like it when its all over and life can get back to normal again.
Hope everyone had a good time over the past couple of weeks .I am now going to start to de clutter my bedroom ,hopefully, as I am in the mood for a good clear-out
Take care everyone if its icy and snowy where you are. There was a very light sprinkle of snow overnight but it didn't really settle for long thank goodness
    Cheers Chums

Just done my second load of washing so I guess that's us b*ggered for 2010 :rotfl:

Thanks to you all for saying you don't mind me moaning about my kids sleeping issues. I swear they never used to be this bad but DS is waking between midnight and 1am, get him off to sleep and then he's waking again between half an hour to an hour later - he's crying for us and generally being really clingy. We've tried leaving him and he started shrieking and getting hysterical that much last night he woke DD who only appears to want to be cuddled to sleep these days too. I just don't know where it's all gone wrong

Went for a tootle in the car to get the kids to have a snooze (which they did) - weather was VERY sunny, had to break out my sunglasses to stop being blinded  Would very much like some more white stuff if anyone wants to throw it our way :D

Having cod cakes for tea (shop bought by my H :o) but I shall be braving the freezing temps to go into the garage and make an inventory of what we have got lurking in there.
Am also going to order a food processor I've seen on Amazon that I want - happy new year pressie for me :D:T

Esor - if they have bicarb in the house get the little lad to have a bath with lots of bicarb in it - helps with the itching and dries out the spots.

Right off to sub zero temps and that's just the garage :rotfl:

    HAPPY NEW YEAR OS FRIENDS.

Looks like being a lazy day in the Wolf's Lair; Mr LW has been on a gaming site for about the last hour or so; he keeps reading out bits from various blogs there.

We were going to have nut loaf and roasties for dins, but neither of us can be @rsed to prep the veggies, so we've agreed on jacket mega-spuds again, and save the nut loaf for tomorrow.:D

OS so far today has consisted of taking the crumb tray out of the toaster and emptying it onto the patio for the birds. Still, Bobby Robin seemed suitably grateful.:D

Hopefully I can drag Mr LW away from Dragon Age Origins for long enough to take down the decs today; there's not a lot to do, but I'd rather not be clambering about on step stools if I don't absolutely have to.

For some obscure reason, Mr LW has decided he likes the idea of having lavender ice cream. Luckily, there's a recipe for it in one of my books. But goodness knows where he got that idea from.

Someone (was it Remmie?) mentioned a woofer developing cataracts - just a bit of reassurance here; I'm a host for a dog-sitting service, and one of my canine guests was totally blind, but she still enjoyed life. Even though she'd never been here before, she soon learned the route from the garden, through the kitchen to the living room (and onto the sofa!) and of course dogs use their noses predominantly, so your dog will still be able to enjoy him/her self.

Anyway, I've rambled on enough I think, for now.

    Here's to a great 2010 for all of us:beer: and may I reiterate what it says in my signature;
MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS BE CARRIED UPON THE WINGS OF DRAGONS
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
