AprilThanks for all your replies, very helpful as I knew they would be!
According to the seat guru site (thanks stoneman!) it would appear that row 21 are also in economy, I realise that we would have to pay for 2 in this row but is there any drawbacks to those seats and are these £30 each as well? Also, how much room do the trays and tv's in the arm rest take up as I wouldn't be able to class myself as being skinny!!
I was looking on the virgin link (thanks nvh!) and it says on there that when retunring you are able to check in for the flight at the Luxor (for a fee). Would you be able to upgrade your seats at these check ins as well? Has anybody done this rather than checking in for the return flight at the airport?
Thanks again for all your help.
Rob
Hi Rob -
We loved the extra leg room seats - the ones at the back (I don't think all the planes have been changed though - I think some are just the old pairs without extra legroom - but good as they are pairs)...they don't look like much more room but were totally worth it the one time we paid for them...we were so damn happy to get them...really did make a difference. We are not skinny either and we did not like the exit row seats for the reason that they take about 2 inches of the width off for the fixed arm rests...we could fit in them, sure...but the loss of the width made them less comfortable for us.
As for checking in for the return leg - if you have a car, I'd suggest doing what we do...we pack up and leave the hotel about 10:30...go to the airport - short term parking is immediately opposite the terminal and is not expensive...get in the queue (there's not usually much of one, but can be a few people)...check in (get the premium seats you want if available). Then head back to the strip for a few hours. Bags are checked, all you have is your boarding cards and any carry on to worry about. Then when you get back to the airport you can completely skip the (sometimes hideous) queue and go straight through security.
One other thing - use online check-in 24 hours before both flights if you can (we bring a laptop now, but used to find an internet kiosk somewhere to do this before)...at least then you can select the best seats it will offer you (twice we had a choice of the pairs at the back). If you wait until 2 hours before the flight and turn up with everyone else, it can be ugly. We've been told by someone at McCarran before that thsoe checking in online will almost be guaranteed the seats that they had at the time they checked in...everyone who turns up at the airport gets what's left.
I do ramble, I know.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AprilOH sometimes sits on the floor in front of the seat during the flight anyway.
I really wish I would have thought of that...in fact, I think I did think of it but assumed I would be told off by the flight attendants. I didn't like the exit row seats (my bum is significantly larger than Tracy's)

MayCan't see any pairs here, but seatguru could be wrong.
On BA site when I go to select them, there is a toilet at the back, a wardrobe in front of them, then 39 A + B are directly in front of them.
In fact the layout on BA is totally different to the seatguru site
Would there be anyway to see how busy the BA flights have been so far?0 -
MayIts more liek this 777 http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/British_Airways/British_Airways_Boeing_777-200.php0

MayI got that MGM offer too and it is $67 cheaper than the same offer I got at New Year. However I have already cancelled it in favour of the 222 Offer which is the same price as this new offer, but with $84 of inclusions I will use plus other stuff I won't.0
