MayUpdate on Matt Goss for those that are interestedOnetime and short-time Palms fixture Matt Goss was not only trumpeted
as the newest headliner at Caesars Palace today, he was met with an
entire horn section, a guitarist, drummer and my favorite instrument in
Las Vegas, the seven-sting bass. The widely disseminated information
that Goss would perform at Cleopatra's Barge — to be Gossily renamed
The Gossy Room at Cleopatra's Barge — was finally made public during a
news conference just south of the famed Caesars Fountains, not far from
where Evel Knievel went tea-over-teakettle in his 1967 daredevil leap
over the Strip-side water attraction.Goss debuts this throwback, hep-cat production March 12 the Gossy
Barge, which even at this moment is undergoing renovation to expand
seating to a 175-seat capacity. It will be about 250 by spring when the
refurbishing of the lounge is finished. Tickets are $40, all-inclusive (up
from $25 per ticket at the Palms, which did tack on taxes and fees).0 -

January , FebruaryNot sure if this will be of any use to anyone, but I thought it might be helpful.
Just back from Vegas this week and whilst there we saw a few shows. The $75 for two shows at Luxor and Excalibur are for the back row seats only. However, when we saw the Chris Angel show (would not tell anyone to go as it was really bad - personal opinion) we were moved down to the 4th row as the girl outside told us to ask if there were any better seats. After this I think everyone started moving down as the place was really empty. We saw Carot Top and although we were in the back row you could still see everything (now this one I would recommend). Before we left we had problems getting the tickets online using the codes I found so I used my mums post office phonecard which had an offer to phone the US free to purchase the tickets. We got 35% off zumanity for Student Discount (never got asked for my student card when we collected the tickets) and 25% for O using a code. If any students are going out there were a few of the Cirque shows which did discount and with one student card you could purchase two tickets (you both didn't have to be a student).
We stayed at the MGM for the second time and when we were asking someone about Studio 54 we got told it was free to get in if you were a guest of the hotel, you just had to go in before 11am and show your room key. As they stamped your hand you could leave and then re-enter later if this was too early for you. We had never been told this last time and its not something we found was made common knowledge - the guy who told us was on his first week. They also have some lion cubs there and you can get your picture taken for $25. Due to their size they wont be there for much longer, but if someone is going over soon they can see the cubs.
This year I found everyone was pestering you to buy tickets or get freebies for viewing the timeshare - even in the hotels. Planet Hollywood had an offer in their players card book which offered you $100 to tour the ph westgate rooms. However, it turned into a timeshare lasting approx 90 and if you were a couple you both didn't get the $100 rather you had to share it, and you had to give a $20 deposit. Once we found out it was timeshare we decided to pass. The Luxor were offering us two tickets to two shows if we viewed something owned by the MGM but this one was for about 2 hours. It amused me when we said that we would have to think about it that we were offered more and more. Again we didn't do it as we couldn't be bothered by the timeshare.
Hope this was useful to someone0 -

If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

AprilI had to ask my husband who Matt Goss is.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

SeptemberI'm looking for 5 nights in September...(15-20th) a quick look shows The Trump at £370/$570 (including resort fees..) we wanted a nice hotel but a good price....
What do people think of that? Good price? And good hotel for a first timer? We're not too bothered about there not being a casino actually in the hotel.0 -
Try reading the trip reviews earlier and also in last years thread - but I cant remember anyone here staying at Trump. Its a bit stuck out on its own behind the FSM and its off strip.
What are you looking for in a hotel and whats your budget? September is a long way off - the real deals will start coming out in June/July for Sept.
The Trump deal looks like good value, as its one of the best hotels there, but Ive always assumed its used by businessmen, rather than tourists, and especially not for first timers.illegitimi non carborundum0
