P&T, when you meet them after the show they will both talk to you.

Doh, I read this as a question...:)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I love Kayak too. I keep a trip journal with them so that I can look up any of my paperwork wherever I am.

thanks for your reply luci. I am looking at 26th Feb-3rd march, flights are just over £500pp and with ebookers all in it's around the £750pp mark.

I can beat that. :) The accommodation at least. Through https://www.harrahs.com/vegasvacation the PH is $380 + tax or £137pp. A strip view is a lot more, but we have never failed to get a strip view at PH by asking nicely at check in. Well worth the $20 tip, or maybe more if you are there for a week.

thanks for that link Luci - have checked it and I'm gettting $660.81 inc tax for those dates though....am I doing something wrong? x
  • Been looking at flight prices from Scotland. This seems the best at the moment or do I hang off.
    Edin-lhr -san fransisco departing 02/08
San fransisco - las vegas 07/08
    las vegas-Edinburgh via LHR 12/08

    Total cost £811 each.
Spending 5 nights in each place.
This visit is for our Silver Wedding so would like to be in Vegas for 09/08 but apart from that dates flexible if anyone has seen better deals.
Any suggestions of where to stay in San fransisco? Still haven't made up our mind about where to stay in Vegas either but plenty info on this site (doesn't make the choice any easier)

Try splitting the fare -Do EDI SFO & LAS EDI on say www.kayak.co.uk then get the fare in dollars for the SFO LAS hop seperately. It may very well come out cheaper. SouthWest have a web fare of $97 ($107.70 with tax) for your date.

Hmmm did a quick search -works out about the same but you can bring it down a few quid to £805.32 using expedia -and can earn nectar points too. Using BA or US Air only a pound in it.

Early August is expensive-fares drop dramatically around 24thAugust but I guess you want to be there for the aniversary itself ?

I put in the dates you quoted - 26 Feb till 3 March - which is 5 nights.

Did you mean to put 5 March, ie 7 nights?

If so it is $620 + tax, £225pp.

    Sat 2/26/2011 $150.00
    Sun 2/27/2011 $50.00
    Mon 2/28/2011 $50.00
    Tue 3/1/2011 $50.00
    Wed 3/2/2011 $80.00
    Thu 3/3/2011 $80.00
    Fri 3/4/2011 $160.00

    Avg. Per Night
    $88.57
    Subtotal
    $620.00*

My man at BA has come up trumps for us. He got us 2@£430 for begining of March going direct. Had to take it insted of the AA flights at the same price really, I know I have said that we actually like indirect but not going all the way to LAX then back to LAS. If there had been the LHR-ORD-LAS I would have taken that, simply becaus we would have got free seat selection, and that is gonna add some dosh onto the final price.
Now looking at hotels, as this is a last minute thing and already have our main holidays booked, we looked at Flamingo at $520+tax for the 6 nights. Nice and centre and a good pool (if the weather plays ball) Ballys actually came out at $390+ but don't like the look of the pool area. Oh wait a minute, I forgot, we usually end up at Encore pool on our old room key, or I pay the $10 (girls free) to reside at the Go pool at Flamingo. So might just consider Ballys now.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Did you put your totalrewards number in to get rates ?

Last time I was at the Flamingo some people were moaning that the Go pool still charges but is no longer topless BTW

Yes I put TR number in. The rate went down by $50 by doing that. In fact the normal best rate with TR number is $20 less than the Friends and Family rate. Not bothered about the no topless thing, it's just nice at the Go pool, cussoned beds, plenty of free water, lots of fluffy towels, guiet surroundings, and NO KIDS. :D
