    hi everyone!!

havent been on for a while since i posted my last trip report really but have been really busy moving home etc, so hope everyone had a nice xmas!! who got a trip to vegas for xmas then - gotta be at least one of you lol!!
im booking a vegas trip for my parents in may (9th-17th) flights with ba already booked earlier in the year when they had a sale as my dad wanted to fly direct so that was done with the help of you guys
next up is the hotel - i stayed in paris when we went and i think this would be good for them as totally central and no resort fee! but equally ceasers - the good room obviously or any of the other very centre strip hotels would be good.

you guys told me the best deals would come out in the new year for may dates but my parents are concerned they dont have a hotel yet (ive tried explaining but its gone over their heads lol) so wondering if any deals around for any hotels at the moment that might be good for them.
i havent asked them their budget really but i know they arent swimming in cash so anything you know of would be good to start off my searches. i think ive narrowed in down to bellagio, paris, ceasers, venetian as first choices but open to suggestions.
also as a preference i would choose one without a resort fee as i know thats the type of thing that would really pee my dad off and bother him the whole holiday lol!!

    thanks in advance guys

If you want no resort fee then you are looking at a Harrah's (or Caesars as it is now) property so that excludes the Bellagio and Venetian.

Go to https://www.caesars.com and click on Hot Deals. You can bring up a calendar of all their hotels from specific dates.

Bellagio will have a resort fee from January...Venetian has a resort fee...so...

You could try using the friends & family offers from Caesars/Harrahs for Paris or Caesars.

    http://www.harrahs.com/vegasvacation/

Can't remember if they take full payment up front - but pretty sure it's refundable if they find something better closer to their dates.

Or if they can sign up for LCI membership (they have casinos in various cities in the UK - and it's free to join)

    http://www.lciclubs.com/

then they could look at the LCI deals for Caesars properties (those who have booked using the LCI offer haven't been asked to prove membership - but it would make me nervous suggesting they book on the LCI rates without having a membership, just in case).

Check rates on the deals at smartervegas.com as well.

For Caesars, they don't want the cheapest rooms, I don't think...have never stayed in them, but have seen photos and they aren't very nice - would say Forum Tower or better would be what they would want to consider.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

You mean a "Bodily Fluids on the Bedspread Room". I agree.

i would rather stay at one of the above that has a resort fee rather than stay at ceasers..when u price it up you will find the price would be similar

The MGM fee increases on January 3rd to just over $20 a night.

My $55 a night deal including resort fee is looking better by the day!!! (Yes I'm aware they may try to charge it... I have screenshots and booking confirmation to prove it's included!)

Depends on the room type and Kate has already said she doesn't want a classic room.

Vdara isn't anywhere near the other hotels she's mentioned-I'm guessing mid-Strip is important so perhaps not a great choice

I'd stay at Ceasars again in a heartbeat (Oh wait a minute-I am already booked to do so for May; ) in the Augustus Tower -Great rooms and no casino treking -I'm just so pleased Harrah's have continued to resist the resort fee so far and will continue hopefully.

I have a dilemma...we are looking to book a week at PH for OH's birthday end of February. We live in Newcastle and I've found a decent deal with BA flying NCL-LHR-LAS and vice versa. This is the ideal route but I'm really nervous of booking this though in case they strike

Our other option is to travel to Manchester and go United via Philly, but this bumps the price up what with travel and hotel costs.

Does anyone else have this predicament about BA? I can't decide what to do :undecided

Us too - we loved the Augustus Tower room we had - partly because the room was great and partly because the easy access...last time we'd stayed in the Palace Tower and while the room was great, it seemed to take ages to get anywhere from the room.

We have had good luck upgrading at Caesars - Forum Tower to Palace, Palace to Augustus...not to say you can count on it, but so far so good for us.

We still haven't tried Venetian or Palazzo, but would definately choose Caesars over Bellagio...we just didn't think Bellagio was worth the money (and that was pre-resort fee).

While we don't mind the resort fee most places as we would use the internet access at least, it is nice to have the choice not to pay the fee and not to use the services.

Then again, we're biased as HET/Caesars is quite good to us on the comp front...I still think if we were paying full whack we'd choose Caesars over Bellagio without a second thought...but that's just us, others will totally disagree.
