sorry Froggit - not sure about dates - just that they've released loads of codeshares that undercut the price of going direct through the main operator

I can only recommend using Kayak, the Iberia site doesn't seem to be up to much at the best of times!!!

That's probably why i ended up going through ebookers (didnt give me an option of going direct through Iberia.com) for my booking :)

booked iberia for early in January gave me a price of £470 codes share BA so booked, appeared on Iberia and British Airways sites within seconds, booked through lastminute.com (Because I had one of their vouchers!)

So it is a good offer, £630 on BA for same flight

... time to look into the Platinum challenge I think (or do I have to sign up for that before I book the flights... time to do some reading)
You can sign up for the challenge anytime, but best to do it the beginning of the month that you are going. Read the wiki about the AA status challenge, it let's you into everything. First you have to make sure that the flights all have AA flight numbers, next make sure that the tickets are not deep discount codes, you only get half the EQP's for them and as you need 10000 to get the Platinum you probably won't make it on one trip, but you have 3 months to complete it. Anyway enough from me, read and learn everything before you part with your $200
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

It always around that date every year when flight prices fall, because kids go back to school early september so not time to get a fortnights holiday in

Cheers Stoneman - It was actually your reminder post on the previous page that had put the challenge into my mind! :)

I'm on AA flight numbers all the way (i'm not doing direct vegas as doing a bit of a car journey down via. Yosemite / Death Valley from SFO) but unfortunately i'm N class (0.5 EQ) so it looks like i'm limited to doing the cheaper ($80ish?) 'Gold' challenge if anything... going to read if its worth it

Anyways, finally got my "Record Locator" for the AA site (that was a pain in the neck!) so i can choose my seats now as well - looks like the planes are empty so far! :)

edit: oh, and i suddenly realised the 757 does have TV's but it's those communal ones... should keep the missus happy(ish) :D

I seem to remember flights qualifying for the challenge need to be AA metal not just a codeshare.
