JuneWOW !!!!! that cake !! is awesome!!!!!
I get married in Vegas next year, then hold my party when i get back, got the fun casino stuff at my party and a tiny bit of decor, but would'nt mind a cake like that, or more importantly, the top piece!0 -
Cake was made by a friend of a friend as was pretty cheap for a custom designed cake £200 and the topper made from clay so you keep it forever was £68.0

I am there for 1 week, and fly to orlando on the friday night, so i booked a mustang for the thurs pm time to fri (1 day hire).
Am looking at this Orleans place as reviews say its all good, so ideally check in there on friday around 3pm, then check out sunday as late as possible and get a nice place on the strip for the 5 nights..
Do strip hotels let you check in on sundays around 1 or 2pm maybe ?
I love the Orleans it is way better than Terribles. The casino is great and big, Terribles is small and doesnt always have tables staffed. Pool is also good at Orleans.
Hotels in Vegas are open for check in 24/70 -

That is just brilliant! Thanks for posting the photo...she's very talented.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Junehi, any tips for a cheapish hotel for 6 lads in may time? All first timers to Vegas, would apprieciate any advice.0

Right then peeps
One thing i really fancy doing is jumping off the Stratosphere on there Skyjump thing
Has anyone done this ?
I have watched a couple of videos on Youtube, but it looks as though you come down slowly as opposed to having the feeling of 'base jumping' or actually moving at speed.....
Am i wrong, as i got my hopes up for this, i wanted to run and jump off, then have it slow me down when i am 3/4 way down ! (i guess if they didnt slow me down, it would be like a scene from the cartoon Road Runner!!)
I watched a few crazy peeps do this when I was in Vegas few months back...could never do that - but they seemed to be buzzing and had lots of fun!0 -

Cheap = Imperial Palace (Centre Strip)
Cheapish = Flamingo/Ballys (Centre Strip)
Have a look on http://www.smartervegas.com
There should be some promo codes out for May...you are booking direct with the hotel using this site and great deals to be had, especially if you sign up for their newsletter you can get Excalibur for like $20 a night.
Although watch out for resort fees being added!
May I add that for 6 lads I would recommend Planet Hollywood, real hip hotel I stayed here a few months ago...I was able to get it for $50 per night but that was cheap for that hotel.0 -
Maygoing next may, originally my wife was liking the look of the bellagio, but now we are both looking at the cosmopolitain, as the location seems great and rooms look wonderful, has anyone got any info or good prices for this hotel, be interesting to see the reviews as it dosent open until december 15th0

OH asked my to price Vegas to go over xmas. I think he's gone a bit crazy, but I figure if we leave before 31st, prices shouldn't be too insane......lol
Let the search begin
Anyways just saying hi to all the familar (and new) faces......
I'm going on a sneaky trip at xmas, can't wait!! NYE is expensive but the days from xmas day are really cheap for hotels.0 -
MarchI've been lurking in this thread since February. My husband and I just got back from our first trip to Vegas 2 weeks ago and just wanted to say thanks for all the great advice as it really helped up plan our trip, also as this is only my 2nd post ever... hello!
Anyway now we have got the Vegas bug, we are ready to book the next trip. We are planning to go in March and quite fancied the Vdara. Having looked around it seems the cheapest option at the moment is to book via Thomas Cook, which I found surprising as I though it would be cheaper to book separately..maybe because we only want to fly direct?
My question is, should we book now or do you think that there will be a sale soon given that its nearly Christmas?
Also has anyone stayed at the Vdara? What did you think?Slimming World Target Achieved 13/09/12!0
