December ( including Xmas and New Year )
    Hi there,

Looking for advise again please, my partner and I are looking to go to Vegas in December. I contacted the Paris Hotel for somemore info on their Le Rendezvous lounge, I've copied the reply below. It's going to be our first time in Vegas and we are wondering if this sounds like good value?? We had simlar access to the lounge in The Hilton Hotel in New York and there we only had to worry about getting a snack through the day. Any advice would be great! Thank you xx

Thank you for contacting Paris Las Vegas!

Not something that would appeal to us at all...but then again, we normally have too many restaurants we want to visit each trip to fit them in. If you aren't fussed about trying the many options available to you, then maybe...but it seems a bit pricey to me at $55 per couple (plus tax I assume, probably at 12%) so $30 per person per day for cold breakfast, evening sandwiches and some nibbles and soft drinks. Also, not knowing what the offerings are like, you may find that they aren't really to your taste and not sure if you could then back out of it for the rest of the nights. And you're tied to eating at certain hours only, at a specific place...so you will have to head back to Paris from wherever you might be, and in Vegas, with so much to see, you may find that very inconvenient.

    Also, check your PMs. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

With the abundance of eating places in every hotel and in Vegas in general, I dont think it is worth it but that is only my opinion.

I definitely don't think it is worth it. There are far too many options for eating out in Vegas and to keep having to go back to the hotel to eat would be too restrictive.

Coffee and Danish for breakfast? That would be maybe $5pp elsewhere. Sandwiches for dinner? No thanks. I think you would soon sicken of that after a couple of days.
  • Not sure if this has been posted but BA have replaced their Boeing 777 on the Vegas route with a 747 from June 1st next year.

    Discussed here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club/1145443-lhr-las-747-1-june-2011-a.html

Not sure whether this will have any effect on prices but it will increase capacity.

Plus, you will be able to sample the delights of the First Class cabin for the 1st time on this route..:)

With the kind of price drop you're seeing would it be worth dropping a day of your holiday (or your OH going straight into work from the airport as it's probably training day rather than a real school day ?)
problem is we live in plymouth so its a 6hr drive back from gatwick after not getting any sleep on the plane. I will look into six days though to give us the extra day off

Quick question: If our flights are leaving at 8pm on a Friday what time would you get picked up by a Limo? We will be at Bellagio and Circus Circus (1st pick up)

    Cheers

    Hello,

I have been browsing this thread since I booked our LV trip a couple of months ago, and I'm picking up loads of great information and tips - thanks! My wife and I are heading out there for 11 nights in the Bellagio, for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary in June / July 2011.

11 nights in the Bellagio + return direct flights with Virgin from Manchester totalled £2155, seemed like a good deal!

As we will be there over the 4th July (our Anniversary) and the weekend prior (the 4th being a Monday), I was looking for a bit of advice on what the city is like on this big American holiday. Are any of the hotels known for the best fireworks or celebrations? Or are there any other special events people can recommend?

Also, as we are there for a while over what I imagine will be a very busy time, trying a $20 trick on check-in might be asking a bit much for an upgrade for the whole stay. Has anyone tried this trick part way through a stay, hoping for an upgrade for the last couple of nights?

    Thanks for your help,

    Matt
  • Me & My friend are looking to go to Vegas in October half term next year (she is a teacher)
I've looked at the 24th - 30th (6 nights) and the flights with BA have just come out from Heathrow - £610 return
We can get a cheap hotel (golden nugget, excalibur) for about £110 each for the 6 nights.

Is this a good price?? I've seen Vegas flights for under £500 before but obviously travelling peak time doesn't help!
