Just booked our next trip for March.

And hubby honestly didn't know (consciously) that we'll be in town NASCAR weekend...but since it's a birthday trip for him, of course I couldn't not let him book tickets...for all 3 days.

It took me about 15 minutes to think say 'we are TOTALLY going to see Donny and Marie this time!' in retaliation.

So far we've booked 6 nights at PH, and are going to keep our eyes open for a decent deal at Venetian or Palazzo we think...but like everyone, will keep our options open. :)

Oooh what dates, we're in town from the 16th?

Booked for next April/May, staying in the Bellagio but the pics/reviews say the rooms are a bit dated? can anyone advise as i could always cancel and maybe pay a bit extra for somewhere more "worth it"

    Goin on honeymoon.

Last Question - whats the story with the stripburger certs? where do you get them and what are they for?

We've stayed at the Bellagio 3 times and MGM once, intend on staying at the Bellagio again in april as well! I don't think the rooms are dated, more 'classic?!' each time we've tipped reception and had an upgrade to a Fountain room, believe me it is so worth it, views on a night are fantastic and the fountains themselves hypnotising. We spend a lot of time in their casino and like 'Fix' the restaurant as well, not that we're creatures of habit ha ha. We thought it might cater for the older clientele but not at all, we love it there and the location is really good as well (do I sound like they're paying me??) :rotfl:

We are looking in to booking a Las Vegas trip next May/June. The only way we can go is to take our kids. We're planning to use our Tesco vouchers with Virgin.

My first question is whether you think its a good idea to take kids to Las Vegas (age 12 & 9). Bearing in mind we cant go otherwise!

My second question is which hotel you think would be most suitable? Initially i thought Circus Circus may be a good option (and cheaper!) but the reviews are not good. Mandalay Bay looks good but would you recommend this with children?

The price with Virgin is £3500, we've got nearly £1500 in Tesco deals, so that leaves £2k to pay. I'm aware that sometimes you have to weigh up whether its worth paying full prices with Tesco vouchers, as sometimes finding a deal or booking flights & accommodation seperately can work out cheaper. However i think paying £2k for 7 nights for 2 adults & 2 kids inc taxes & transfers wasnt too bad.

PH Towers, Luxor & MGM Grand prices are similar to Mandalay Bay, does anyone feel any of these would be better?

Any other advice gratefully recieved :)

Does anyone agree that i am not totally wasting my Tesco Vouchers?

I'm a total Las Vegas novice but hubby and i have wanted to go for years.

My boys were 5 and 10 the first time we took them to Vegas, so I'd say go for it!

Although it's off-strip I would highly recommend The Orleans if you're going with children. They have a 14 screen cinema, a 70 lane bowling alley, a children's arcade and a fantastic pool area. The rooms tend to be slightly bigger than the standard rooms on the strip and because the ceilings in the casino are pretty high it doesn't seem, to me, to be as smoky as other casinos. It's also possible to get from the parking garage up to the rooms without going anywhere near the casino at all.

As well several restaurants in the casino (24 hour coffee shop, mexican, TGI Fridays) there's also a little food court with burgers, pizzas, subways, that kind of thing). There's a free shuttle that runs regularly to the strip too so I don't think you "miss out" by being a little bit off strip.

Can you tell where I stay when I go? :rotfl: 23 days and counting - getting excited now!

  • We have been to Vegas for the last two years at the end of April, each time flying with US Airways, from Manchester, via Philadelphia. For each holiday, I booked the flights in the previous September and paid less than £400 each. In September of this year, we didn't didn't think we would be able to go next year but a couple of weeks ago, my husband said it was OK for me to start looking for flights.:j

Since then I've been checking every day on different sites and most prices are for well over £500 each. I know no one can predict whether they will come down or not, so I'm wondering how many of you have already booked flights for next year and approximately how much you paid for them? Or, are most people waiting to see if they come down in price nearer to the time of going?

We usually fly that route too. We have paid £525 for next year. Exactly £100 more than this time. (We're in Las Vegas right now.) I track the flight prices with Kayak and the lowest I've seen since I booked is £518. I don't look to torture myself, just to get an idea of the trends. I'm sad like that.
