Just keep an eye out for the reduced value of Tesco vouchers after 6th Dec, you might need to book before then to get the best deal.

Yes i know thats why i'm in a panic to use them up now! Since my earlier post i'm having my doubts as to whether it is wise to use my Tesco vouchers. Arghh my head is spinning with prices.

Still keen to hear about best choice of Las Vegas hotel with kids though!

We are looking in to booking a Las Vegas trip next May/June. The only way we can go is to take our kids. We're planning to use our Tesco vouchers with Virgin.

My first question is whether you think its a good idea to take kids to Las Vegas (age 12 & 9). Bearing in mind we cant go otherwise!

My second question is which hotel you think would be most suitable? Initially i thought Circus Circus may be a good option (and cheaper!) but the reviews are not good. Mandalay Bay looks good but would you recommend this with children?

The price with Virgin is £3500, we've got nearly £1500 in Tesco deals, so that leaves £2k to pay. I'm aware that sometimes you have to weigh up whether its worth paying full prices with Tesco vouchers, as sometimes finding a deal or booking flights & accommodation seperately can work out cheaper. However i think paying £2k for 7 nights for 2 adults & 2 kids inc taxes & transfers wasnt too bad.

PH Towers, Luxor & MGM Grand prices are similar to Mandalay Bay, does anyone feel any of these would be better?

Any other advice gratefully recieved :)

Does anyone agree that i am not totally wasting my Tesco Vouchers?

I'm a total Las Vegas novice but hubby and i have wanted to go for years.

this is our second time with kids to vegas..mine are 8 and 15..they love it..we don't gamble but we do hire a car when we go.Don't stay in circus circus it's right at the wrong end of the strip and not a nice walk when you have had a nice walk along the strip at night.I got mugged outside that hotel..it's not the best area and before you get to the hotel there is all knocked down buildings etc..
we stayed at the excalibur last time which we got really cheap..At xmas we are staying at the Bellagio got a great deal..There's shoppinng, shows grand canyon etc..lots to do for kids..relax by the pool etc..

    Hi,

Im after advice on Restaurant.com vouchers. Going in April to get married and we have about 16 adults and four children coming. Want to take them all for a meal the night before the wedding or even the wedding night if the reviews are good and they can be used in good restaurants.
Are there any loopholes where you get charged alot of money ?
Is there a maximum of people who can use them at a table?
Can you reserve a table in advance ?
and lastly are they worth it?

    Thanks in advance.

You can only use one per party - even if sat at different tables...and one per restaurant per month...these terms are clear on the restaurant.com site and vouchers...so one voucher won't make a big dent in the bill for that big of a group. They can be well worth it for a smaller party, but in this case may not really be worth bothering. There may be some exceptions - we had a $75 off $150 order voucher for Envy Steakhouse which was excellent value for 4 of us...but that's still nowhere near the group size you are talking about.

Just booked our next trip for March.

And hubby honestly didn't know (consciously) that we'll be in town NASCAR weekend...but since it's a birthday trip for him, of course I couldn't not let him book tickets...for all 3 days.

It took me about 15 minutes to think say 'we are TOTALLY going to see Donny and Marie this time!' in retaliation.

So far we've booked 6 nights at PH, and are going to keep our eyes open for a decent deal at Venetian or Palazzo we think...but like everyone, will keep our options open. :)

You will love Donny and Marie! Tony really didn't want to see them, but has put their show in his top 5. Second only to Jersey Boys.

I think you'll like PH too. the bathrooms are very nice.

okay lets write off the £1500 you will be spending in Clubcard vouchers , that leaves a a balance of £2k . this is the real cost . with flights priced how they are i think to be taking 4 people and having rooms for 7 nights is good value .

you could waste a lot of time searching around and not get close to that price , and the clocking is ticking on the x4 reward points . my advice go with Virgin and your clubcard vouchers .

word of advice , it says in the FAQ of Tesco rewards and Virgin Holidays to make sure you send the Vouchers to Virgin recorded delivery and fully insured , in case Royal mail lose them . big big problems in getting the money/ vouchers back if they do , and you have just sent them 1st class ,so i have heard .

i really would look into Excalibur as it should be around the same price as Circus Circus and is much better . if you want much much better ( but not as family Friendly ) i would pick Mandalay Bay cause the pool will keep the kids occupied for hours . Mandalay Bay is really nice :blushing: and the best part is you can grab a free Monorail to Excalibur just up the road , where you might want to see some of the more Family Oriented shows and stuff . best of worlds IMO . Luxor is the same local , but given that it is the same price as Mandalay Bay , you be silly to pick it over MB IMO .

i have a similar problem myself with clubcard vouchers : i want to take a short break away next easter , but have no idea where to go . i have half mind to trade my £80 in for £320 of Irish Ferry Vouchers , but at the same time i would like a bit of sun . £320 isn't going to make much of a dent into a Virgin Holiday ect , but what else could i use them on . ?
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

I am more or less in the same boat as you kids of 13 & 10 and have been pondering the type of hotel to book for a while now. I am travelling in December to celebrate my wife’s 40th so a pool requirement did not bother me.
I wanted a place that was preferably non smoking and I did not want to be walking through the enormous gaming halls with the kids. I plumped for the Platinum Hotel, non gaming and smoke free. I managed to get 5 days strip view room using Expedia for £340.

Tripadvisor comments always seem to be positive for this hotel. I initially looked at Circus Circus but after various reviews and looking at the price I wanted something slightly more upmarket (with sounding to snobbish). Anyway I go Dec 16th so if you want me to update you with our experience and see how Kid friendly Vegas is, I will be happy to. Good luck
