Thought i'd get some ideas as what to do. Been to Vegas 5 times but with friends and Dad never with a girlfriend so I think I shall be doing very different things as oppossed to only seeing the blackjack table and nightclubs. Flying out with Virgin on 22nd Aug 2011 from Gatwick staying at excalibur £1822 for both of us, but have £808 off from Tesco.
Day one be very very bored on the plane, I hate flying it bores the hell out of me. Do all virgin flights out of gatwick have IFE? Humour the gf for 13hrs as she has never flown for more then 3 before. Probably just get a taxi straight to excalibur should not be more then $15. Anyone tried $$ sandwich at check in there? would be great to get a upgrade. Probably just get some dinner at buffet or food court maybe a walk round there and Luxor before bed.
Day Two walk the strip, yep start on the left (not been to city centre before so will enjoy going in there) and work up will try to avoid shopping, get as far as circus and cross over and come back down, Stop for lunch somewhere nice and do the gondola at venitian and Lions at MGM this should take us all day so somewhere nice for dinner would be great, no where futher then Ceasars Palace so we can walk up and watch fountains.
Day Three heard some really good reviews of Scoot Tours $250 for both of us (before i go looking for vouchers) is this worth doing? Maybe a show in evening ill leave this to gf as we have such different taste, i'd love to go see Jersey Boys but she will prefer one of the circue shows.
Day Four by now i'll hopefully have won some money so I (sorry she) can go shopping with it, brought here a Guess purse last time and she wants the matching bag from PH, Is the goldline best to get to fashion Show then onto outlet? In the evening love to go somewhere great for dinner maybe tied in with freemont street, recommendations please. Been 5 times and never 'eaten' in Vegas always just done buffets and fastfood.
Day Five grand canyon! Hire a mustang convertible and pimp! leave early stop at Hoover dam then on to skywalk I know people say fly or heli down and go to different rim, but unless I win Big cheaper option it will have to be. If anyone knows when you go to the rim there is a place called Eagle point its so nice and a fantastic part of canyon I have a massive picture of last time I was there with my mates. Will probaly get a dirty knee at this point (she dont read this). Drive back and once again Dinner out thinking Resturatant at top of Paris as it should be a romantic night.
Day Six re visit her favourite casinos maybe the aquariam at Mirage. Im a Big rugby fan so would love to spend some time in a sports bar saw some great American football last time. If were here for 10 days id probably go watch some. Bit more shopping maybe another show if price is right or Tournamanents of Kings, will have to wait till closer to time to see who is performing or boxing etc out there. Do you suggest booking shows in advance or at tickets booths on day?
Day Seven run out of things to do now, wouldnt mind going to club in evening I loved playboy 52 storys up and amazing views. Maybe get monorail to stratosphere (harrahs and walk) go to top (never done that) and make comments aobut shot gun weddings as we come back past the chappels.
Day Eight will get a massive breakfast in as been hearing really bad things about virgin food of late and sit there very sad to be comming home, discussing our next trip its her choice for following year so i am expecting the complete opposite.
Any help people want to give will be great as I said not a Vegas virgin but unsure of resturants or what to do out of Vegas, plus wanna make it all about her and not just be getting drink playing wheel of fortune or monopoly fruit machinesHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. For walking the strip, dont forget its likely to be very hot, around the 100-104f mark0 -
December ( including Xmas and New Year )I am looking to book a couple of nights at MGM just after new year.

It doesnt include breakfast, very few, if any hotels in Vegas do B and B.
You may find an offer that will include food credit or free buffets, thats the only way you will get any food included0 -

A couple of things
Have you been to the skywalk as I didnt think the road was made up and going in a mustang might not be the wisest choice. I havent been though so I may be wrong.
Also I dont think they play american football in august, you could go to cashman fields and see the Vegas51s play baseball
As Penny says it will be soooo hot in Aug, I was there this year and it was over 100 every day, couldnt walk far outside in it0 -

October , NovemberThought i'd get some ideas as what to do.
Adam, I can strongly recommend Scoot City was excellent, doubt your going find any deals for it at the mo, as top on trip advisor and business going well
Eating at Freemont Street I went to triple george grill recommended by Ferf on here and was really impressed also you can get a voucher from Restaurant.com it's just on 3rd street
If your a sports fan would really find the time to catch some American sport always a good night out0 -

I also highly recommend scoot tours, but check groupon everyday for offers as they did do an offer in April this year for half price, so may do it again. The voucher was valid for a year.
I know they wont do other promotions as most company's want 40% commission.
And Mustang was great, but be warned we were driving around in 80-85 last week and sometimes it was just too hot to be driving as the sun is beating down on you, we then stopped put roof up and drove with AC on it was heavenbut this was in San Francisco where you were stopping every 5 mins for traffic
We did drive down to Hoover Dam with the roof down and was good, just to also warn you about time, we left for hoover dam around 9.30 and there was a little traffic and we done the full tour and got back to Vegas around 3pm. So if you want to do the GC the same day you may be a little pressed for time0 -

Apparently the last 15 miles of the road (the unpaved bit that can constitute off-road and hence shaft the insurance) is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010. Haven't heard one way or the other if work is on-going... anybody know?
NFL and college seasons don't start until September but pre-season starts mid August for NFL teams and with LV having no pro sports teams quite often big name teams (baseball/basketball ..no idea about football) will (hopefully) take the opportunity to play pre season games in LV.
The UNLV rebels won't normally play any preseason games but their preseason training sessions ARE open to the public so by the last week of August they will be running meaningful scrimmages.
Baseball at Cashman field is highly recommended and dirt cheap.
As for temps, while 100F is far too hot for some, we were quite happy hiking out in the desert in mid July with temps around 114F0
