Just came back from our 20 day trip and now back to boring life
Will do a report in a week or so, just need time to sort it out. Took about 5000 pics too but prob 1/3 are rubbish lol.
Regarding Signature and upgrades, we have just come back from there (8 days) and did not bother with the $20 trick as read it wont work on the Signature, but we did email them (concierge) and request Tower 1 and a high floor and mentioned it was we were getting married out there. When we got there we were in Tower 1 and Level 36 (Penthouse level) but since found out it the only difference in the rooms are higher ceilings and a few other things which i have forgotten atm. But we did get a great view, excellent hotel too.
We did get an upgrade in Cesars Palace though, booked a forum tower room ($104 a night) and slipped the $20 and asked for Augustus Tower room but got a $3000 a night (or so the guy said) forum tower suite.0 -
SeptemberMandalay Bay is a great hotel but not very well located
Ditto .. i prefared the MGM..... but might be good for those people who like "package trips"

Hi guys, could you please advise what is the best and cheapest way to see Grand Canyon going from Vegas? Planning to go in April next year..
I have driven there from Vegas, stayed over for 1 or 2 nights so that we could see sunrise and sunset over the canyon and have plenty of time at all the vantage points.
I wouldnt drive there and back in one day0 -

Not sure what you mean by those who like package trips.
But IMO there is no comparison between MB and MGM, yes the MGM is better situated (just) but the MB is a far superior hotel, especially if you can get an upgrade to THE Hotel0 -
October , NovemberThanks Katy, nice to hear it's ok:)
We're there for a week which I guess is a reasonable time, so possibly less chance of it working for us...
Oh well, we'll still give it a go!
Hi, I'd be interested to know if the $$ sandwich works as we are there from 4 Nov for 3 nights in a Junior Suite...

October , NovemberGood for you Lexis, Signature is a lovely hotel. $$ Sandwich is not as good these days, hardly works - depends how long you are staying though - the longer your stay the less likely you are to get an upgrade.
Wouldn't say that really depends where you are tried at Luxor and Planet Hollywood this month and upgraded at both with money back at Luxor as couldn't get me the spa suite I requested!0 -
October , NovemberTrip report part one as I look at booking again!!
Day 1
Flying with BA online checkin 24 hours before, found what looked like two seats in the middle row 24 with a greyed out seat thought might be broken or something, but on boarding found in was a seat for the cabin crew for take off and landing so an empty one for the rest of the flight well worth bearing in mind for those that like to stretch out! The other bonus was chatting to the fly attendant ending up with a rather large goodie bag to take to hotel, let’s just say was still drinking red wine in the room on the last day! Over all flight was good second time with BA on this route.
Landed and headed straight to our first hotel the Luxor, and after a little chat with the girl check-in we where upgraded to a tower room, apparently very busy due to a conference so couldn’t get the spa suite I was after! Couldn’t stop apologising, at $41 a night can’t complain. Had a little wonder grabbed some food in the food court near M+M shop nothing special but by that time was happy for anything! Then headed back to room for a well deserved sleep!
Day 2
Up early as everyone always is on the first day headed down to Miracle Mile for breakfast at Ocean Bar One had a resturant.com voucher after a lovely breakfast here last year and wasn’t disappointed food and setting both lovely.
We heading for a walked weaving in and out out the various hotels ended up in Sahara playing $1 blackjack for a while good for anyone fancy trying there hand and don’t want to lay to much on the table.
Heading to lunch after that at Stripburger with a resturant.com voucher in hand thanks to Sarahlasvegas! I can see what people are talking about now, let’s just say was very hard to resist the urge not to go back the rest of the week!!
Continued are walk back towards Luxor and ended up at Taco’s and Tequila for dinner was alright handy as we whee staying there but doubt I’d be back, better Mexican choices out there.
Day 3
We headed out to Prim Outlet via the bus from MGM with the two for one voucher that seems to be everywhere so only cost $15 for the two of us, pretty impressive came back with a fair few bags particularly liked Pacsun very much my style and shockingly cheap. And for anyone who likes smoothies try Jugo juice in the food court very nice.
Returned and visited the Ice bar Minus 5 at MB really cool experience and great photo’s but be warned you can’t take your own camera in so have to buy the offical photo’s just to factor in when looking at cost’s.
Dinner was at the Luxor Buffet the less said about that the better! Then we headed off to Thomas and Mack for the Lakers game which was really enjoyable always like to grab some sport action when I’m out there shame the various other teams where on away weeks whilst I was there!
Day 4
Late breakfast today well into Vegas time by this point! So had Crepes at Yoghurt Inn at MB really nice. We had packed are main suitcase and dropped into Planet Hollywood the bell desk was more than happy to keep until we checked in three days later as where travelling light to Freemont street the next day. Has a good look round city centre really impressive but do feel losing a bit of the fun side of Vegas. Ended up in the Pub in Aria really nice atmosphere and ended up staying longer than we where planning always a good sign. Dinner was at the Noodle Shop in MB with a Restaurant.com voucher amazing Chinese staff couldn’t be more helpful.
Day 5
SCOOT CITY!!! I cannot recommend this trip enough it was excellent thank you to whoever flagged this up originally on the thread. John was an excellent tour guide and took us some great pic’s along the way some of our fav’s from the holiday, and to top it al off was happy to pick us up at Luxor store are suitcase in his van and drop us off in Freemont Street to check in at Fitzgeralds he couldn’t have been more helpful.
Checked into Fitzgerald’s without any problems very easy room was as expected bit old but clean and did the job and was a bargain way of avoiding the high weekend costs of the strip as was staying Friday and Sat.
For dinner we went to Triple George Grill on Ferf’s recommendation it was fabulous thank you Ferf! Then enjoyed the various stage shows on freemont street they do love Halloween! Ended up going in Binnon’s Haunted casino which was brilliant really scary stuff! People jumping out from all over the place!0 -
October , NovemberDay 6
We where a little tied from the night before so ended up eating at the courtyard in Fitz not to bad nice pancakes and not to expensive but not gonna set the world alight. Then it was time for more shopping at the Premium outlet just two stops on the goldline from Freemont street so very easy, Goldline seems a very good bus route. I won’t bore you with the large amount of bags we ended up with but was particularly happy with a couple of sports watches I got from Time factory. Also people don’t forget the vocuher booklets from these centres always worth getting.
Headed back to the strip for the evening via the Goldline had a 24 hour pass, to Mirage cavings buffet in the LVA booklet 2-4-1 wow has this got good really new looking layout and food and choice where both excellent would have been happy paying full price so half price was a steal. Set off walking up the strip to try and burn some food off with a large frozen drink of course, and managed to get ourselves stopped by the police! Still don’t really now why back a story to tell! Then hit Coyote Ugly at MGM fun bar and an experience to say the least some very drunk American was gonna wake up with some regrets in the morning I’m sure! Goldline back to Freemont was so much quicker than the Deuce!
Day 7
TV checkout at Fitz really enjoyed staying down there and will certainly look to do this again. Had $3 free credit given on signing up to the Fitz players club so thought I try my luck on the mega millions or whatever it is called $11million jackpot at the moment one spin $3 and won $30 can’t be bad, Think Fitz might not want me back!
Caught the goldline back to the strip still had time on are tickets from the previous day it’s 24 hours not the day like we are use to useful to remember.
Checked in at Planet Hollywood, $20 sandwich got me an upgrade to a resort room with a fountain view, Cashier tried to give me money back but I insisted as had really put some work in on the computer to find the room! AS ever amazing room at PH really do like it here. And the room had a coffee maker which I think is the first time I’ve seen this in Vegas. We got a Cab to Rio and took in the show, then had still my favourite buffet In Vegas at the Rio of course two for one as well! Then headed upstairs to Voodoo lounge this was the day it was raining in Vegas, but wasn’t to bad and view was amazing never been up there before, would recommend and early they had no staff on the door so didn’t even have to show my free pass!
Day 8
We headed to breakfast at Hash house a go go! Large does not describe the food in this place, food was going back from tables looking untouched! But I certainly dented mine and was lovely! After this we walked across to the secret gardens in Mirage as have two 6 week white tigers who are adorable! Went back to room for a rest. Then headed out for dinner stopped off at Tix4tonight to get tickets for peepshow for the following day zero q and seem to have a fair few shows available so worth considering if you don’t fancy queuing up. Dinner was at Segundo’s with a Restaurant.com voucher next to Stripburger. Food was lovely here but had a table at edge of restaurant, so got a bit of a mix of music crossing over but the food would bring me back again! Then it was off to see Mystere which was amazing and great value with the summer of cirque promotion.0 -
October , NovemberDay 9
Breakfast was at La Salsa Cantina in the miracle mile love a Mexican breakfast really nice and at four bucks you can’t knock it! It was then the bus to Outlet centre (south) for more shopping only a few bits here had proberly seen all the shops already by this point but still nice for a wander and yes still came back with bags!
It was off to Orleans for one of are favourites really local free and for $13.99 for both of us with the LVA book you can’t go wrong! Then in was back to PH for Peepshow Girlfriend really wanted to see this I wasn’t expecting that much but was fairly enjoyable for the price Holly was cardboard and kept missing Q’s but the rest of the cast carried her pretty well!
Day 10
Just kicked around local on our last day went up the Eiffel tower and played a few slot machines had a mad run on three panda’s went into bonus mode and kept winning more free spins had almost two hundred! Was Getting worried might miss the plan at one point!
Got to the airport fly very over booked offering extra nights stays and money but couldn’t take advantage so thus a packed plane on way home and food was not impressive and service lack a little which was a surprise with BA but had been told by one of the crew that they had a day and a half in Vegas and some members of the crew had crammed a lot in which might explain things!
Hope I haven’t bored to much, and anyone with any questions on anywhere feel free to ask0
