    Hi all,

We're off on Monday and are staying at the Signature, and I had a few questions for you old hands (it's our first time)...

Is it better to book in at the hotel or at the airport, or does it not really make a difference? If we do book at the hotel, do you just go to any tower to do this? Is there a better tower that we should aim for to stay in when booking in?

Also, should we be asking the taxi to take us through the tunnel or not if we want to go by the quickest/shortest/cheapest route?

Ooh, and has anyone used the $$ sandwich there recently? We're going out to get married so we're hoping to be able to use that to perhaps wangle an upgrade from the Junior Suite we're in. We figured that seeing as we're in Vegas we may as well take a gamble on the room:) If we can't get comped for it though we're going to pay for an upgrade as we're out with our two boys, so a One Bed Suite with the separate room is obviously pretty necessary!;)

    Thanks for any thoughts!

Good for you Lexis, Signature is a lovely hotel. $$ Sandwich is not as good these days, hardly works - depends how long you are staying though - the longer your stay the less likely you are to get an upgrade.

Thanks Katy, nice to hear it's ok:)

We're there for a week which I guess is a reasonable time, so possibly less chance of it working for us...

Oh well, we'll still give it a go!

duchy: that sounds good, we don't instist on helicopter, didn't know there do sighseeing planes. Could you please tell me how much roughly did it cost per person?

Plane is best although most epxensive. It goes to the national park and south rim, whereas the copters dont.

we used scenic airlines - google them for costs.

IMHO Signature is less chance of upgrades as the rooms are privately owned, and I would guess that the owner of the regular suites wont be pleased if their punters keep on getting bumped up.

Not sure if you can check in for the Sig at the airport or not or whether it is just the MGM Grand.

The taxi will stop at the gatehouse where you give them your name and they will tell you which tower you are in.

No need for the tunnel to get to the Sig. You need Swenson to Koval.

You can try the getting married card, but so many thousands of people get married in Vegas that it's nothing unusual.

Why did you book a Junior Suite when you say it is necessary to have a one bedroom suite? You may have been cheaper to book the one bedroom from the start if there was a good offer on rather than the rate they may quote you at check in.

Luxury Suites Int has an offer on at the moment through Travelzoo for complementary upgrade to 1 bed suite at MGM Signature, but the offer closes today I think

7 nights in Vegas over Newyears ... direct flights with Virgin, 7 nights at Mandalay Bay = £998

Not sure if it's a great price ..but flights alone seem expensive that time of year.

Mandalay Bay is a great hotel but not very well located, its one of the last main hotels on the strip!
Best to book hotel and flights seperate, always get a better deal, especially if you book direct with the hotel, with a voucher code from smartervegas.
