Only joking :):D I have hired a car for the day when i go, so plan is to drive to the canyon and do some sight seeing via my Mustang convertable :) Cheaper and lasts longer than the helicopter ride i guess! :)

Various helicopter tours available, you'll need to think about cost over experience really.

There are also various land tours that drive you to the grand canyon. Because its such a distance away, for the experience I'd recommend taking a helicopter tour where you'll be flown out to the canyon and then can fly in a helicopter into the canyon.

Details on front page of thread.

i know this a MSE site, but with something like visiting the Grand Canyon, as mentioned above, I'd seriously consider the savings v. experience question.

it was by no means the cheapest, but me and the OH did one of the sunset trips with Maverick... I know there's a whole other debate about 'what is the REAL grand canyon?', but this experience for us, was once in a lifetime and the GC is the GC ;)

the whole experience lasted about 4.5/5 hours... which included landing in the canyon for about half an hour. you fly out over the hoover dam, etc. in daylight, land in the canyon as the sun begins to go down, fly back as sun sets, and approach Vegas in the dark so you get to see it all lit up and you fly down the Strip.

I think it's one of those trips that once you've done it, you wouldn't really do it again... so it's worth the extra investment to make the most of it.

here's some pics from our trip to whet your appetite!

thanks guys :-) As it is quite a drive from Vegas, we were considering something like bus half way and then helicopter, we heard it is cheaper then helicopter all the way from Vegas.
Do you think we can get that for max £200 per person?

Best and cheapest for the Canyon aren't the same.

The coach tour is a very long day

    The helicoptor is expensive

We took the middle ground and booked a tour that flew us up to the Canyon on a sightseeing plane (all seats were window seats-view was breathtaking-Had a choice of been driven to the Rim in either a Hummer or drive yourself in a 4WD then back to the ranch for lunch before getting flown home on the same plane.

We left around 5am and were dropped back to our hotel by 3

Wasn't much dearer than a coach trip and significantly cheaper than the helicoptor-I'd recommend it

Depends how much you are willing to spend, great located fairly cheap hotel is Flamingo or Bally's, bit more expensive is Monte Carlo or Planet Hollywood and if you have money to spend either Bellagio or Venetian! All hotels in vegas are great though.
Try smartervegas for discount codes for booking with the hotel directly, can save you a fortune!
