if your family then Excalibur should be considered as only it and Circus Circus are Family friendly on the strip .

    .

I wouldn't agree with this statement at all and wouldn't stay at either with a thirteen year old. Mind you I wouldn't stay at either without too :)

MGM is pretty family friendly, as is Mandaley Bay and the Flamingo's pools are fab for families off strip the Orleans is good if cost is an issue

I took the OP to mean the youngest is 13 so apart from suggesting Hooters might not be a good choice :p I wouldn't suggest choice be restricted.

My son at 13 loved the Orleans -good pool, cinema, decent games room but was equally happy at the Flamingo and MGM . His favourite hotel to visit though is the Palms for the IMAX cinema which is rarely mentioned here but a really good kid thing to do -and the adults like it too.

December ( including Xmas and New Year )
    Hi Everyone

We've been to Vegas three times in the last few years, stayed at Bellagio twice and MGM once (didn't compare with the Bellagio would go there every time!). We're hoping to go for our 5 yr wedding anniversary this year so prob from 27/12 to 02/01/11, odd time I know...! Really wanted to go direct from Manchester but obv thats not possible now so looking at going from London (we're from North-East), if not may have to go indirect from Manchester but each time we have delays have been a nightmare, anyone going over same time of year? With this years weather it's not filling me with confidence that this trip will be easy!

Going to vegas for the first time this Feb, anyone got suggestions on which Cirque Du Solei show to go to? Also anyone know a good way to get reduced ticket prices?

Or is booking when we are there a better idea?

Looking at the Piers Morgan programme and the way they kept going on about the credit crunch and how it was affecting Vegas.....how likely do you think it will be that airfare prices will come down......I know room rates have dropped and it's quite likely they may drop further but do you think the likes of Virgin,BA etc will reduce the fare to Vegas.......

The airfares will have nothing to do with the crunch on Vegas. As long as people still go there the airfare will stay the same. All that will happen is that they will cut down on the schedules. The fare at the moment is quite cheap, it's all the taxes that mount up, and they are not likely to ever come down. Not as long as the CO2 brigade have a cash cow to milk.
I don't really think room rates have much more leverage to drop unless you are staying in one of the cheaper places. Vegas is trying to get back to where it was on the strip 10 years ago where they gave you cheap rooms to entice you to play in their casino, but it doesn't work like that anymore. just too much choice out there.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
