TBH would never stay DT again. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

MarchHi Everyone
We've been to Vegas three times in the last few years, stayed at Bellagio twice and MGM once (didn't compare with the Bellagio would go there every time!). We're hoping to go for our 5 yr wedding anniversary this year so prob from 27/12 to 02/01/11, odd time I know...! Really wanted to go direct from Manchester but obv thats not possible now so looking at going from London (we're from North-East), if not may have to go indirect from Manchester but each time we have delays have been a nightmare, anyone going over same time of year? With this years weather it's not filling me with confidence that this trip will be easy!
I'm in the North East. Next trip we're flying BA to Heathrow and then BA to Las Vegas direct. You can also fly Flybe to Gatwick and then go with Virgin direct..... we've also went indirect from Glasgow before with American Airlines and United (AA no longer on the route last time I checked). We have family in Glasgow though, so it made it easier to add a couple of days either side of the trip.......Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
MarchTangoBunny wrote: »Looking at the Piers Morgan programme and the way they kept going on about the credit crunch and how it was affecting Vegas.....how likely do you think it will be that airfare prices will come down......I know room rates have dropped and it's quite likely they may drop further but do you think the likes of Virgin,BA etc will reduce the fare to Vegas.......
When I posted about Bellagio rates a few days ago, I dug out an old spreadsheet when I was looking at room rates for our 2005 trip. The cheapest Bellagio rate was $299 mid week. I'd like to think I'm a better at finding deals now, but it's still quite a difference to what we're seeing today. (the exchange was also MUCH better then, ah, those were the days - lol)Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

Or is booking when we are there a better idea?
Sorry for all the replies :-)
We've seen Love and KA, both were great. Love was superb though and has turned me into an overnight Beatles fan. I'm absolutely going to see Love again on our next trip
We were in the 2nd or 3rd row for KA, it's a bit closer than ideal, but the tickets were cheap as chips. We took the very last row for Love. Again, these were cheap seats, but they were great as you could really see everything that was going on. I don't think I'd ever feel the need to take the most expensive seats as the theatres in Vegas are pretty small so most seats are pretty good.....Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
if you're stuck at home today due to the weather, you can kill 5 minutes watching this youTube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Wkubf1PrWg (only watch it from the 5 minute mark onwards!)
Basically, just some common questions / myths about fruit machines and their behaviour (ie. are the results of bonus games pre-determined or does it really matter what I pick)
it's a video from AmericanCasinoGuide.com so think i believe it!... certainly some interesting stuff0 -
Package vs DIY - Am I doing it wrong?
With all my other holidays I've booked elements separately as this has always been cheaper. I'm now starting to look at prices for our honeymoon in September but booking flights and hotel together is pulling up the cheapest option.
One issue is we want a direct flight (premium economy) and the cheapest at the moment is with BA at £888 per person. With last minute I've found 10 nights in The Mirage with premium economy flights for £1185 per person. So essentially the room is £594 whereas the cheapest rate I've found for the room elsewhere is £805. Any tips to bring the price down now or am i likely to get it cheaper at a later date? I don't want it to be too last minute as it's a honeymoon and I don't want to have addittional stress near the wedding. I'm sure I'll be getting enough of that as the big day approaches.0 -
thebaroness --- your problem with room prices @ Mirage is that it's 9 months away and prices (generally) come down / change, with offers coming out as you get closer to the month you will travel
did you try the links in the first post for the Mirage stay? there's only a couple of mirage offers floating around for September at the moment... think this is the cheapest:
https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=160&host=promo&code=WINTER&kbid=374305&sub=vhh01
what doesn't help the Mirage prices are their (IMO) rediculous $16.80 (+12% tax) resort fee per night (not that that affects your issue particularly - I just think it's steep and saw this a good opportunity to whinge!!)
over 10 nights, i personally would expect the price of the Mirage to come down by the £200 difference there currently is (it's only £20 per night ~ $14 per night) --> unless there's something big going on (bank holiday and a week long ~ 60k convention in Sept will affect your prices if you're there then and make them less likely to be reduced significantly)
basically, the choice is yours - i don't think anyone could say for sure what will happen with prices so perhaps best doing what you're comfy with0 -
