Septemberwe stayed there last year...great hotel, lovely room, fab pool....but this is a huge hotel and for us we found it a little impersonal
my tr can be found here

You will get as many answers as there are Cirque shows (perhaps exception Criss Angel's Believe and possibly Zumanity - but the latter more because it seems the one the least people have seen)...it's really a personal preference thing and impossible to say which you will like most.
Unlike greatdimes - we loved Love - have seen it twice - and prefer it over Ka (which we saw after Love) and possibly even more than O (which was our first Cirque show).
I do think that Mystere is a more entry-level Circque show - we loved it the first time we saw it, but the second time we saw it after our second time seeing Love...compared to the spectacle of Love, Mystere was a bit of a let-down...and some people (trets, I'm looking at you) hate the clown in Mystere.
As for cheap tickets - the first page of this thread gives some options for reduced tickets before you go - specifically www.smartervegas.com, www.travelzoo.com, etc. There's also this one:
http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/lasvegas/en/promotions/index.asp
Some people have had luck at the 1/2 price booth (though not usually 1/2 price) and some have had luck at 1/2 price tickets at the box office on the day...it really depends on which show you want to see (O seems to be the least often discounted of them) and how sad you will be if you miss out by not booking in advance.
For all Cirque shows, being close is not a benefit...we learned this the hard way (twice) Mid-way back is generally best, but I'd pick the last row over the first anytime.
LOVED LOVE
LOVED KA
HATED Zumanity, except for the bit where the Chinese girl flipped into the giant fish bowl.
BTW go for the cheapest seats you can with KA.....the set is so huge, you get a better view from the back.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
SeptemberLike you Froggit I hated Zumanity......I'm not a prude by any means but I just thought it was a waste of money:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0

AugustHello there! I am planning a trip to Vegas for a Week from 24 August 2010. I will be travelling with my friend, and I was looking for flights from Newcastle. I've been to Vegas a few times before, so I am familiar with hotels, and promotion codes etc, but I seem to be struggling with finding decent prices flights. I found some good packages on Expedia, but for some reason when I go to book I am unable to book the KLM flights which are coming up with the packages. If anyone has any suggestions for where to find flights it'd be great help! I've done the KLM flights from NCL to LAS before, so I don't object to having two connecting flights. Any suggestions would be welcomed - thanks in advance!0

Always makes me laugh the way people say they hate Zumanity followed by "i'm not a prude".
Having seen a number of "burlesque" type shows in Vegas, Zumanity is by far the best. Perhaps you saw the earlier "covered boobs" version in which case i'd understand why it might be a little odd.
Zumanity is a fanstastic show. It's very funny as well as being sexy and has that impressive "Cirque Factor". Don't see the 7:30 showing and go for the 10:30 where the boobies are allowed to swing free! Oh and dont go if your a prude, you'll hate it.
BTW, my wife and i took my Mum(70) and Dad(75) and they both loved it too,
Also seen:
KA - 10/10 The best IMHO, seen it twice
La Reve - 7/10 No too impressed, the whole "it's all in water" thing get's a bit tired after a while, plus the seats are really cramped.
Love - 9/10 One of the best, really enjoyed this.
Mystere - 9/10 thought this would be a let down after seeing all the other Cirque shows first, plus the fact that this is the oldest of all the Cirque shows on the strip. But it's still superb!
Non Cirque Shows
Jersey boys - 10/10 Fanstastic show
Phanthom - 8/10 impressive chandelier action, but not the best.
Peepshow - 8/10 Not bad, you get to see Holly Madison's boobs! But Zumanity is much better. Greater boobie count with impressive acrobatics thown in.
Crazy Horse - 7/10 flashing images/lights on boobies not bad, but just boobs!
Midnight Fantasy 6/10 - Pretty rubbish. Weird mix of comedy/boobs that just doesn't work.
Jubilee - 6/10 - One of the most overated shows in Vegas. Seems very dated and doesn't work that well.
Legends in Concert - 7/10 - Elvis is probably the best imitator when we saw it, although they do pose for piccys after the show which is a nice touch.
Big Elvis - 9/10 - Free show at Bill's Gambling Hall(Barbary Coast). The best sounding fatest Elvis impersonator you'll ever see.

AprilHi. Never been to Vegas before but am thinking of booking a trip for 2 in 2011. Virgin are offering MGM Grand. Any feedback you have about this hotel would be much appreciated. TIA.
Are you looking at Virgin Holidays? They are generally vastly overpriced so it's worth looking at other options like booking direct...though for 2011, you won't be able to find flights that far out (or probably hotels, and if you can find hotels, the rates will be much higher than they are likely to be closer to the time).
We've not stayed there yet - have booked 3 nights for April though...may try it, may cancel. It is a massive, massive property like TangoBunny says, and that kind of puts me off...it has over 5,000 rooms - plus all the casino, restaurant, shopping, showroom space. It's really, really big.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Zumanity boobs were out, but it was not funny, was not sensual or sexy, and Im at the opposite end to prude. Was just rather boring.....except for the bit where the girl flipped into the fish bowl.
Agree though Jersey boys 10/10 and KA 10/10.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

The walk from Signature doubles the size of MGM if youre staying there.....even with the travellators.....so beware the walk if youre staying at Signature.
But if you go out the Signature main gate, its quicker to Aria and PH than it is to the front of MGM.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

I've been to Vegas 3 times & stayed at MGM, Trump & Encore. The MGM has fabulous pools and the casino is HUGE. To be honest though, I feel its slightly overpriced. I often find the Mirage cheaper than the MGM, and I feel that they are a similar class of hotels, but the Mirage has had a revamp and from what I've seen of them the rooms are much nicer than the MGM and I suppose its more central in terms of the newer end of the strip. Hope that helps!0
