Have stayed at Pallazzo and yes room was great. I have come to the conclusion that I prefer to stay in mid range properties though as I cant afford the limits on the tables in the high end properties
    #good point..
saying that i always have a habbit of booking the nicest hotel whenever i go anywhere, however then not being able to afford to eat in restaurant, drink in bar etc... and left me thinking should ihave booked cheaper..

You can book into one of the high end hotels, but you don't have to eat or drink there. You can do that at much cheaper places.

You're obsessed with the Classic rooms at Caesars (It must have deeply scarred you_ :rotfl:......and you're not comparing like for like pricewise. Agreed-never book one-or be prepared to upgrade at check in

A fairer (and more interesting)comparison would be between Forum and upwards Tower rooms and Belagio and Wynn rooms.

Pricewise, some random dates (admittedly standard rates) for Classic room shows otherwise :)

You can eat at Grand Lux at Palazzo/Venetian very cheaply.

You can usually collect tickets for a show at any MGM property from any MGM hotel so you could nip over to the Bellagio rather than traipsing down to the MG Grand.
Thanks Luci...I could pick them up at Mirage then as we will be going there anyway for BB Kings

Ok, Fontana Bar - dress code? I know there's not one shown on their website, but not sure if there's any implied dress code...We're planning on meeting a friend I haven't seen in 20 years there next month (her choice, and we've always wanted to check it out)...plan is to sit on the patio. so just trying to get an idea of what the majority of folks wear there? It's well documented that we don't like to dress up, so normally avoid dressy places...I'm not sure if this would qualify or not.

I know some may say 'we always dress up when we go there'...what we're looking for really is what most of the patrons will likely be wearing...we're likely to go about 7:30 for a couple of hours, so relatively earlyish.

We went there last time Ferf...wasn't impressed I thought it very over rated and the service was appalling... over 20 min wait for our drinks not including the 10 mins we waited to get served and it's not like there were a lot of people in there either.....anyway that's not what you asked is it hun.....I wore linen trousers and a strappy but plain top...Al had a calf length pair of shorts and a short sleeved shirt....we weren't the worst dressed neither were we the best dressed....so smart casual would be fine

Thanks Lorraine...in our case the main point is to spend a bit of time with my friend and it's one of her favorite places...plus we've always wanted to check it out for the views of the fountains. I appreciate the warning about the service though as I understand the drinks are fairly pricey maybe that's not such a bad thing. :) Do you have any recommendations for cocktails from there?

Does this apply to HET properties as well I mean can I pick my Cher tickets up from the IP box office or is it just the MGM properties that offer this service if you know what I'm getting at?
