would love to hear what u thought about the rooms, service, restaurants etc! just anything & everything about the hotels!!
did you go to any clubs? i hope to go to at least one & have had the one at mgm recommended!
didn't do any clubs to be honest (only ever done a couple in Vegas and that was a few years ago) - if you're going to tho, just a heads up that at weekends, the lines are 100 miles long (and the drinks wont be cheap!)
Will write more later, but:
MGM:
Celeb Spa's are at the end of quite a long corridor, but the walk to the casino is only a few mins at most, and the 'West Wing exit' is a maximum 5 minute further walk out to the strip - i was quite worried it would be quite some distance due to the size of the place and some comments i had read of the room and its positioning but it really was nothing- probably similar amount of time to get to the pool
Also, our room didn't appear that dated or worn - the large wooden TV cabinet showed that the room had some age (massive box tv in it) but altogether, I was well pleased for just $75 a night average for the 6 nights
We got the 24th Floor, Airport facing - didn't bother with trick or any room request
Encore:
The place is just exquisite to be honest - not a single fault off the top of my head - will write more later but this will hopefully whet your appetite - we got 53rd floor facing Circus Circus / Riviera - didn't bother with the trick or even stating a room preference.0 -
Thanks NVH, I wondered what your thoughts were re the Platinum, any wins when gambling and when are you going back?
I checked my MGM stuff from last october and there's a mysterious $160 charge there and we don't know what for! As everything was accounted for.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Kate0208 - thanks for the http://www.sunbuggy.net/ tip - going to have a check on that for our (inevitable) next trip - is that the right website?? if so, which one did you do??[/QUOTE]
nvh - yep thats the company we used - we did the mini baja 90 minutes one - to be honest the time flew - felt much shorter but it wasnt!! think anything less than 90mins would be too short. the guide said that they do loads of different experiences and you get to see in the workshop where they are actually making the buggies. very cool.

I asked about this (on here) before we went this year and didnt get any replies so you may be the first person on here who has done it.
I must admit I forgot all about it once we were there although I think knowing it was going to be 100 plus every day put me off a bit.
could you drive them flat out, how fast? and did you get covered in sand0
