well hopefully you don't have a classic room booked at Caesars as that would be a step down from the Excalibur from people feedback .

if you really want to go upmarket then try to see what Wynn offers appear . people on this forum have got very good room rates

we've got a palace tower petite suite with the wedding package. I've no idea what this is and it doesn't seem to come up as an option to book on the site!!

we put our sensible heads on and booked the celebrity spa suite at mgm, £300 for 4 nights seemed good value, given that for 3 weeks after vegas we're going to be making our way back to new york (for flight home) via as many cities as possible! Plus if we see anything better we can cancel and get refund of deposit.

Great report Kate, many congratulations on your wedding and Vegas trip, sounds like you had a great time....I suppose the next question is, when are you going back?:D

hahaha - you know what? before we went we said this would be the last time (daughter is 15 months old so all remaining holidays will be family holidays blar blar blar) but we're already thinking of going back again! lol! we have a holiday booked to cyprus next year so looks like wont be able to afford it till 2012 boohooo! so much for last trip. getting married there means you can always find an anniversary excuse to go tho :)
  • Hi Kate congratulations on your marriage. Enjoyed your trip report you certainly got around. The buggies sound great fun, but I think I'm too long in the tooth to risk a go. I'm busy price watching for a decent priced flight for December. Last year only paid £400 BA direct so this year's prices seem terribly expensive.

we were really busy but still found loads of time for relaxing as was a ten day holiday so not rushing around
the buggying (is that even a word?!?) was excellent and they can go as fast or slow as you like and they have slower less hectic ones with more stops for scenery etc but still really exciting - you should do it!!!!
im now doing all the research for my parents who are going in may - just booked them flights direct with ba for £1050 for both of them so pleased with that as flights seem sooooo expensive now! thats why we ended up booking through thomas cook as for once it worked out cheaper.
now ive just got to find them a hotel for may but dont think there will be any deals till nearer the time!

I did post about the suites at MGM, they are not luxurious(because they are old) and £300 for 4 nights is to much IMO, unless 2 of the nights are a Fri and Sat.

For £75 a night or about $115 you could get rooms at many of the top end hotels, I paid £264 for 4 nights at Wynn a couple of weeks ago, and $220 (£140) for 4 nights in a suite at MGM.

I suggest you keep the booking at MGM but keep looking nearer the time for an alternative

Great trip report, Kate! Really loved reading it. I do sometimes wonder when we rave about a restaurant (like Stripburger) if we don't set expectations too high...you and photome weren't terribly fussed with it. I suppose when you find something by accident and it's good, it's a different experience than going into it as 'OMG STRIPBURGER IS SO AWESOME!!' :)

Also, today's Groupon might be interesting to some.

    http://www.groupon.com/las-vegas/

$49 for $100 worth of services at either the spa or salon at Mirage.

    Expires March 2011.

Not sure if you mean you will be taking your daughter to Vegas with you.

But we have been taking our son to Vegas since he was 4 in 1999

Have to say when I was sitting in stripburger i did wonder why everyone was so desperate for a restaurant.com voucher for it.
The burger was nothing special, infact I prefer In and Out.

I did like the backdrop of the Wynn and the Butterscotch milkshake was great, they had just added a special milkshake Chocolate and peanut butter, I was tempted but thought it might be a bit to sickly

Oh yes and the Onion strings (is that right) were great as well

ps talking of peanut butter i think I will delve into my big bag of peanut butter M and Ms

...you have no idea how very much this information means to me...

...or how much I am now craving this shake and may very well die of longing in the next 5 weeks.

Chocolate peanut butter shakes may be my biggest weakness ever...and I do not think I have had one in at least 9 years (since I moved here and no longer had easy access to the local UDF shop www.udfinc.com ). :)

2 of the nights are Friday and Saturday, but yeah no harm in keeping an eye on deals as to cancel isn't a big deal.
