On the issue of warmth in Vegas, almost everybody we talked to this year (we went Aug 25th - Sept 1st) said that July was ridiculously hot and a record month, yet August was surprisingly cold this year considering the previous month they had. The saturday, sunday and monday we were there it was probably in the mid-80's during the day with a really nice, relaxing cool breeze to boot and almost every American/Las Vegas native we met and talked to said that was 'cold' for them!

July wasn't that bad, only 8 or 9 days in a row over 110F and temps falling to mid 80's - low 90's overnight. Spot on for us and really didn't notice it too much. The only thing it affected us negatively over was that we didn't join the strip running club on our last week there (6:00pm from the Nike store in the Forum shops). Mt Charleston in the low 80's did feel just right for a decent hike.

    Hi Tangobunny,

There are now two Ross's Dress For Less on the strip, the one you mentioned is the FSM side of the Riviera and is about 10 minutes brisk walk away from FSM. There is a new store recently opened between MGM and Planet Hollywood located on 1st and 2nd Floors. We prefer the Riviera store as it's larger with "supermarket trolleys" instead of large net bags at the MGM store.

In light of Ferf and Luci's post I think I'll opt for the MGM one....baskets seem better option if the place gets crowded

Am I understanding restaurant.com correctly, food only is obviously no alcohol etc
18% or similar tip included onto bill before discount... e.g $80 on food = under $100 to pay so if I use a $100 cert. it leaves nothing to pay?

They do not expire? I can purchase for a trip in just over a years time?

They have massive reductions at certain times. how and when are these available? Do I need to join etc.

Thanks, having a looong week with the teething babs. Mind processing level = 3%. :o

We're not going again this year so fill your boots or suitcases, the stock changes so often so worth a look at the start and end of your holiday, happy hunting for those labels !!

I've found some nice stuff in Ross -both the Riviera one and off Strip (which was almost empty-definitely the way to go if you have a car). I found the North Strip one OK in the morning-but a jumbled mess by afternoon.

Harrah's site was a bit weird last night-tried to book a comped room for next May-it showed on the all hotels availability but rejected it when I tried to book it saying I already have a reservation for those dates. I decided to leave it and call them later-Three hours later-a confirmation arrived ???

has anyone booked with cityandshow before? have got a price of £353 for 3 nights at the wynn mon-wed, which i thought didnt seem to bad, we are there for the sat and sun night to, but that really pushed the price up so would stay somewhere else for those nights.

Yes a few of us have used CityandShow with no problems.

Check their cancellation policy. I'm pretty sure it's the same as the hotel's, full refund if cancelled 48-72 hours ahead.

I think you can do better than that. What dates is it for?

Thanks so much to all who posted the info re the restaurant.com certificates.

I've just logged into my account to find the list of certs I bought and never used and the option to reprint, including an elusive Stripburger one.

Thanks again guys, this will be incredibly useful for our upcoming trip next year.
